Recognizing God’s mercies to give us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ and focusing on those blessings help us through all those troubles and even through very sad news.

Among those spiritual blessings, is the gift from God’s word, and the Holy Spirit of the ability to focus on:

The God to whom we direct our prayers is in no way an invention of mankind.

We have seen the gods of all the lands around God’s people are merely powerful versions of ourselves. They are petty, limited in power and knowledge, they squabble and lie and cheat, and above all, they are needy beings, and the Mesopotamians believed if they treated and served their gods, perhaps they could be happy for a while.

The God is the Bible is Spirit who no one has seen, He is holy himself, and He demands holiness from His creatures.

Yet, He is infinitely merciful and patient and gracious, going so far as to send His only begotten Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

No man could even conceive of I AM who I AM.

The Bible reveals the true God to us, and as we bow before Him in prayer, we are assured He is and He is a rewarder of those who seek Him, precisely because He is utterly unlike us.

The true God of all creation is not a powerful individual, just like humans, but in charge.

He is the Holy God who purchased salvation for His creatures.

There is a God who created and He calls out to us:

God’s ultimate goal for us is to be conformed to the image of His Son.

As prayer warriors, much of our time is spent in silent, tearful, heart-wrenching conversation with our God, for loved ones or tragic circumstances for which our only hope, is the love of Jesus and the answers from God.

We are long in isolation with our prayers, and because our flesh is weak, we wonder if our tears, words, and love of the brethren will be remembered.

In Matthew 26 we read of a certain woman man and a certain woman who are unknown to us.

But the only one who matters hears answers and remembers.

Your tears are in His bottle and your prayers are written in His book.

Take heart:

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Moses calls us to know the word of God is not an idle word for us.

Our Savior bids us build our lives on the foundation of His every word.

Hebrews tells us we are “open and laid bare with the eyes of Him with whom we have to do,” through His word.
