In episode 4, Scotty and show host, Mika Gadsden, visit Freedom Park in Charlotte, NC, the city that Scotty called home for almost the entire time he has been free from prison. What's clear is that Scotty has made a connection with nature and expresses an affinity for open spaces, fresh air and being active for long stretches outdoors. His connection and programs around the country that take inmates or the formerly incarcerated on discovery trips to through the Great Outdoors serve as proof that there is a restorative quality to being exposed to nature.
