The question of free will and how much control do we actually have over our own lives is somewhat of a paradox.

If we have free will, where do the laws of the universe come in, and does Divine will actually exist? And if we don’t have free will, are we just the puppets of some higher forces or karma, and what is the purpose of our lives if we can't choose?

My take on this is that free will and Divine will don’t have to be mutually exclusive. The degree to which they are aligned really depends on the level of consciousness. Choice and pre-determination are only a paradox up to a certain point in our spiritual evolution. When we begin to go beyond duality, we also begin to understand how we can be both the Creator, and the one who surrenders individual will to the Creator...
