FREED: THE POWER OF CHOICE AND BEING PRESENT

In this video, I talk about the power of choice and how you have the power to choose what affects you and what doesn't. We all have the power to choose how to feel, how to act, and how to respond. The ability to choose yourself is not selfish, in fact, it is crucial in the journey of inner peace and self-love, because you matter too.
I also talk about "the monkey brain" or "doing mode" this how our brain operates on a subconscious level in order to problem solve and complete tasks without our full consciousness. A study conducted at Harvard in 2010 found that people are only living in the present moment 47% of the time. So let's say you're around 30-years old and life expectancy is around 80, you technically have 50 years left to live. However, if you're only conscious and fully present 2 out of 16 hours a day, your life expectancy minimizes to 6 years and 3 months (source "Mindfulness: An Eight-week Plan for Finding Peace in a Frantic World"). Meditation is an amazing way to relax the mind and bring it back into the present moment, along with a couple of exercises I mention in the video and I would imagine there are numerous other exercises online.
