Acts 1:8 serves as a table of contents for the entire Book of Acts

The Book of Acts is the second volume of a two-volume set written by Luke. Acts is not simply the history of the early church, it is the history of the mission of the early Church. The Book of Acts tracks the spread of early Christianity, outlines the church's growth in the 30 years after Jesus' death & resurrection, and records the work of the Holy Spirit through the birth, infancy, and adolescence of the church.

HE IS RISEN! 

Those three words change everything. In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul begins by reminding his brothers of the “gospel I preached to you . . . by which you are being saved” (15:2). This gospel, Paul says, revolves around the death of Christ, who “died for our sins in accordance with the Scripture” (15:3). But notice, Paul does not end there. Christ did not remain dead, but he was also “raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures” (15:4) before appearing to his disciples.

Christianity stands or falls on the historical, bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

1 Corinthians 15:13-15 says, “If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised.”

EVERYONE DWELLS IN A STORY. To dwell in a story is to live in it. And the story you choose to live in directs every aspect of your life. It also answers lifes most profound questions:

The stories we see all around us draw us in to join their story. These stories are found in political parties, education, commercials, social media, business, etc. They promise us a good life if we buy their product, model their lifestyle, or join their movement.

The good news is that God is inviting us to join His story. God intends for us to find our true identity, sense of belonging, and our life's purpose as we dwell in His story. Jesus promised to “give us life and life to the full” but we can only receive that life by living in His story. 

There are 5 MAJOR EVENTS in the Old Testament & 5 MAJOR EVENTS in the New Testament … and those events are a MIRROR IMAGE of each other.

They come together at the TURNING POINT of Scripture, which is the person and work of Jesus Christ, with the Old Testament ascending to Jesus & the New Testament descending from Jesus.

What will heaven be like? How will we spend eternity?

In this message, we will explore the end of the book of Revelation to discover what the New Heaven and New Earth will be like.

Opinions about the church vary widely, but the key question we need to ask is this: What did Jesus have in mind when he said, “I will build my church”? (Matt. 16:18). If this is his church, then we want to know what his purpose was in building it.

The four Gospels tell the same story, but with different emphases. The central message of each is the identity and ministry of Jesus Christ. In the Gospels, we discover that Jesus Christ is the long-awaited, once-for-all fulfillment of God’s promise to redeem His fallen world.

Justification, propitiation, and redemption — all benefits of Christ’s death — have one great purpose: reconciliation. Jesus’s death enables us to have a joy-filled relationship with God, which is the highest good of the cross.

Beginning in the book of Joshua, God provides Isreal with the promised land. He allows them to establish a king to govern them in the land. And sends prophets to call them back to their covenant promises.

Throughout the Old Testament story, we are reminded again and again that God always keeps His promises … even when we don’t keep up our end of the bargain...
