What advice would you give a young adult that is considering this industry for their life's work? And what keeps you in this job?
Chaplain Jim Parkin and co-host Ashley Chandler discuss these questions as we know this job isn't all doom and gloom, and every worker isn't drowning in PTSD... Sylvia Blythe, RN and sexual assault nurse examiner, jumps on with us and shares why she knows this is what she's supposed to do and why. She is also the Director of Prism Project Mission Ranch safehouse for minors here in Genesee County, which will be providing restorative services for survivors aged 12-17.
Stress and trauma are aspects of life and this job that each individual will have to face and navigate. Listen to hear their take on these things, and how they continue to have great agency, resolve, and purpose in their work and career. Let us know what you think!
