What happens when the reservoir gets low?

In John 7:37–39, Jesus promises that anyone who thirsts can come to Him and drink—and that rivers of living water will flow from within them. Table-ology, Week 5: The Lord's Table

Between the road to Jerusalem and the tomb, there's an upper room — and in it, a table. In this message, Pastor Jerry traces the Last Supper back to its roots in the Passover meal, unpacking why Jesus told His disciples He had deeply desired to eat this meal with them before He suffered. What looked like just another familiar Passover to the twelve was, in Jesus' hands, transformed into something new: His body as the bread, His blood as the covenant cup.

This week's study also confronts a hard truth — that confessing Jesus as Lord means receiving all of Him, not just the parts that are comfortable. And it offers a tender invitation: the bitter herbs of the Passover table remind us that God never asks us to hide our pain, but to bring it to the table and lay it beside the Lamb.

In this fourth message of the Table-ology series, Pastor Jerry West explores the story of Mephibosheth in 2 Samuel 9 and the life-changing invitation to the king’s table.

Mephibosheth was connected to a fallen kingdom, defined by others according to his disability, and living far from the palace. Yet King David sought him out—not to punish him, but to show him covenant kindness. His invitation was not based on Mephibosheth’s merit, strength, or usefulness, but on a promise made long before he arrived.

In the same way, God’s grace comes looking for us. Our failures, wounds, and limitations do not cancel His call. The table is not prepared because we are worthy, but because the King is kind. His kindness calls us, carries us, and covers us.

In Week 3 of Table-ology, Pastor Jerry West continues through Luke 15 with a message called “The Empty Chair.”

Jesus’ parable of the prodigal son is not only about the son who left home, but also about the Father who kept seeing the empty chair, and the older brother who refused to come to the table when grace made room for someone he thought was undeserving.

This message explores the heart of God for those who are far away, the power of radical hospitality, and the danger of being near the house but far from the Father’s heart. The Father is still looking, still moved with compassion, and still making room at His table.

The parable we often call “The Prodigal Son” is not only a story about a son who wandered away. It is a revelation of the heart of the Father. The younger son came home hoping for bread, but the father gave him belonging. He came home rehearsing a servant’s speech, but the father restored him as a son.
The pigpen revealed the son, but the road home revealed the Father.
Maybe you have wandered. Maybe shame has convinced you that your story is over. Maybe you have believed God would let you near the house, but never back at the table. This message is a reminder that the Father is still looking down the road, and there is still a place for you at the Father’s table.
