When Jesus sends out the 12 he tells them that they will face opposition, but he also comforts them - reminding them that their father knows what they need, and is with them in their work. Like the disciples, we need to be ready to face opposition when we step out in obedience to God, and we need to know the security that we have in Him.

Jesus, looking at the great need of the people around him, calls his followers to pray for workers to be launched out to meet that need. He then immediately makes them the answer to their own prayer!
