Codependency can rule your life with the belief that you just can't live without someone-their approval, their attention, their direction.

I have found that most people have struggled with codependency at some point in their lives, and recovery is possible.

You may be codependent if:

• you attend to everyone else's needs before your own;
• you find yourself wondering what it is that you LIKE TO DO with your downtime, should you ever have any;
• you get invited to something and genuinely don't know if you WANT to go, or if you just want to please the person who invited you by going;
• you find yourself locked in relationships that do a lot for the other person while either doing nothing OR actually harming you;
• you have an "unhealthy attachment" to a controlling or abusive person (unhealthy here means putting their needs before your own).
