Freedom in Christ

Paul was incredibly frustrated. After pouring his heart and soul into the Galatian church he couldn’t believe that they would drift so far from the message of freedom and grace that he taught them. In this message Paul talks about the ‘freedom’ that comes with faith in Jesus and compares this to the ‘slavery’ that is trying to follow rules and be a good person in order to get God to love and accept us.

Questions to reflect on and discuss from this message:

1. What are your first thoughts when you hear the words “slave” and “free” in church?

2. What are some things you do that make you think “God will love me more when I do this?” Try and be specific. (You can also think about things you try NOT to do for the same reason).

3. How does it feel to hear Paul write that “Christ has set us free”?

4. What is one thing you could do this week to live more “free” in Christ?
