Dean Soto 0:00 Hey, this is Dean Soto founder of freedom in five minutes.com and pro sulim calm. And we're here again with another freedom in five minutes. podcast episode. Today's topic is this, how to partner with amazing people. That and more coming up. Oh, man. So back in the day when I first started my business, I was working 50 6070 hours a week. And part of the reason was I was trying to wear all the hats, right? I at the time, I didn't really know how to do this. Some of the stuff that we do now like with the virtual systems architects and with outsourcing and systems and all other stuff, didn't have any of that and so I I found myself just constantly, you know, I'm the one marketing I'm the ones doing sales. I'm the one posting, posting on at the time posting on Craigslist doing whatever I could. And then obviously, when I got a customer, or, or I got a client, I had to be the one doing all the work and doing all the projects and doing all that stuff. Right. Well, the thing is that, that after a while, I started seeing, not just that I was spending a lot of time on stuff. One thing that I started seeing very quickly, I mean, it was night and day I it was without a doubt. I could see really quickly that I sucked at certain things, or at least, at least at the time, I wasn't very good at certain things. So for me, it was marketing promotion, things like that. Especially like public relations, PR type stuff. Very difficult for me to do. And you might hear an echo I'm actually behind in like this alleyway. Wow, my son's doing some martial arts. Anyway. So I started seeing very quickly that some of that stuff was stuff that I really didn't even want to do in the first place. Right. And so not only did I was I'm not was not doing well with it, it just stuff that I didn't want to do in the first place. And so so after a while, once I started, I started doing things more online, I started getting more and more into more scalable things. One of the things I ended up doing was partnering with somebody who, who needed what I had, what I could do, so I was really good at building infrastructure, really good at building systems, operations, things like that. He was at the time selling on Amazon. And so I started partnering up real good and what happened was, while he was good, he already had it. He already had a crowd. He already had an audience. He already had a whole bunch of things like that, but he didn't have the website he wanted basically wanted, he wanted to sell stuff online, different courses teaching people how to sell on Amazon. And he didn't have a means to do that. And so it worked out really well because I knew how to do that I knew how to use WordPress and how to use Click Funnels, all this other stuff that was available at the time. And we started making a lot of money together. And it was cool because I was working way, way, way, way less and making a lot lot lot lot more money to the point where I was able to leave my job at the time. And so with that being said, With all that being said, the the the cool thing about it was that he had skills that I was not I just didn't get the time I just didn't want to do, I probably could have and it's interesting because I i would i would say I could have But it was just stuff that I didn't want to do. And so it made it super easy on my end because I enjoyed building out the operations and stuff, right. So we had that going on at the time. And eventually that partnership faded. And another partnership spawned, which was based around a piece of software. And that partnership was actually the opposite where I started doing a lot of the marketing the person who created the software, it ended up being kind of more of a three way type partnership person who created the software. He just wanted to build and build and build that end of the things. And then my buddy Brad wanted to he was doing a lot of the offer creation creating of of different offers. And in that particular situation. I knew that

I knew that our business model with That piece of software was not was not optimal. It was it was just not working out. And so I knew that we could offer it because basically it was like a month to month type thing. The software had a bunch of different features and so on. And I thought, you know, what if we did an annual, we did an annual type thing. And my buddy Brad, he went and created the offer, the the annual offer. I did, I did the emails for to that. And lo and behold, in a matter of a weekend, we, we did, we did six figures off of one launch over a weekend. And that was all because of different actually, you know, it was a four way four way partnership at the time because I was still with the other partner as well. I take that back. So it was a four way partnership at that time. And it was super easy it just it right away, right away. We were able to start capitalizing on that. And so. So what's the what's the whole point? Why am I sharing this story? I'm sharing this story because I'm serious sharing this story because a lot of the times, if you're doing something on your own, you can bring in if you want a quick way. And it's not always the case, you don't always want to do this and you don't want to give away your business. But you can do things where it's like sales or you can get a certain commission or things like that. But you can bring in a partner and essentially say, hey, if we do this thing together, that whatever it might be, I will give you x percent, I will give you x percent of commission, or whatever it might be, in fact, right now. With my virtual systems architect, I'm doing that with somebody who is absolutely amazing Mr. Paul Tran, who I've talked about in the past and and he is amazing at promotion, amazing business development. He is just phenomenal and he's been able to do in just just a few months what it has taken me a few years to do just on the business development side because that's where his strength lies, right? So he was a client of mine he's a friend and a client of mine and loved what was going on and it was like hey, I'm I want I want to evangelize this thing of what what you have with these virtual systems architects at freedom in five minutes, calm and pursue. com And so, so he and I partnered up and man, it has been amazing. We've been able to speak it. We were We've been in the franchise times we've been, we're speaking at spaces in not too long from now we're getting lots of lots of customers lots of partnerships things are super super just just meeting a ton of ton of people and the best part is we're helping so many businesses transform and do things in the new reality in the reality of, of being able to systemized your business being able to outsource everything in your business in five minutes or less in 30 days that you know, in less than 30 days if you do if you just spent five minutes a day doing our system, you can literally transform your entire business right and and we have so many people that are being affected in bed and are benefiting from this, that it's just, it is just an absolute monster of of a Change predominantly because of this partnership. So, all that being said, if right now, you're a one man show, and maybe you have a team, but you just you, I might, I would highly consider partnering with somebody in some fashion or another, whatever is a win win situation and start developing stuff based off of that partnership because there's a lot of times we'll you'll see, that's but that when you have somebody else who can pick up the slack where you suck, basically, you can completely transform your business almost overnight.

And obviously, like I said, you don't want to get rid of your equity or you don't want to do things that are going to take away from what you're already doing. But find a win win. And you can see some pretty amazing results when it comes to Partnering. So all that being said, Go Go give that a try. And then if you want to transform your business in 30 days or less, literally, it only takes five minutes a day, go to freedom in five minutes calm, or pro slim, calm, PROSULUM calm. And check that out and get in touch with me. We'll get on the phone and we will see if you're a good fit and help you to get your entire business, automated scaled and growing. And all it takes is five minutes a day. Five minutes a day. All right. This is Dean Soto freedom in five minutes and I will catch you later in the next freedom in five minutes podcast episode.

Dean Soto 0:00 Hey, this is Dean Soto founder of freedom in five minutes.com and Pro Sulum.com, P-R-O-S-U-L-U-M.com and we're here with another freedom in five minutes podcast episode. Today's topic is this, every little thing is provided for you, that and more coming up.

Well, good morning from beautiful Huntington Beach, California. On travel, gonna be speaking at some WeWorks down here in Newport Beach, Irvine, Irvine, at Irvine Spectrum and yeah, it is a great morning. It's about 9 o'clock so everyone is done with the public school rush. That's crazy, it's, it's, it's, the, I'd almost forget. Sometimes the, you know, we did a homeschooling thing and so, so there's certain times that you don't wanna be out in about. One of those times is when you're in a public school or actually, when everyone is taking their kids to school and it's only, it's on really a rush hour in the morning and there's this car who's going all over the place so you can barely, barely even do a podcast coz they're just constantly driving by.

Anyway, I don't know why we're on that hinget. So, so Monday, I spent the day, took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese. Little education field trip there, Chuck E. Cheese. Make them do some economic business and different things that going, you know get tickets and spend, consume and produce, consume and produce, let's go, let's go, let's get the skills up, right? They can, they can have some fun, get some tickets and then get a reward. How creative, how creative and then when you have add five of them, five of them at the time. So all those five had to barter and trade and see who was gonna do, who's gonna get what at the very end. So I, so, so the reason why we're down there is we went, we were gonna go to a, we were gonna go to the Pumpkin Patch and we got to the Pumpkin Patch around 1:30 pm and the guy said, even though the Pumpkin Patch was open, the guy said that the rides at the Pumpkin Patch were not available till about 3 or 3:30 at the latest. And so had to figure, we're down, we're down the city anyway. It takes about 45 minutes to get there and so I wasn't gonna just sit there and wait for 2 hours, right?

Well, so I've decided, hey, let's go to Chuck E. Cheese. So, we went to Chuck E. Cheese, had a, had a blast there and then we went to the Pumpkin Patch. Now, my oldest boy, Zoren, he, he really wanted to go on the first when we, when we finally got back to the Pumpkin Patch. I mean he has been talking about it for the last 2 weeks every time. He's like, oh there's the Ferris wheel, there's the Ferris wheel, oh I love the Ferris wheel, Ferris wheel, Ferris wheel. And so, I got, every ride there is one ticket and I believe it's like $4 per ride or something like that or $2 per ride. Anyway, whatever it was I got, I got enough for all 5 of them to do 5 rides. They had a big, big slide, they had airplane, little airplane things for the kids. The little cars that go around. They had the Ferris wheel. They had a couple of other bigger, big, more big rides and so it, none of the, the little, the, the thing that I didn't really account for was me. I did not buy tickets for myself and I totally forgot that they, they were not going to let my kids go on the Ferris wheel without me being present, at least the younger 3 that I had and then my older 2, my, my, my older daughter was not wanting to go on the Ferris wheel because cos it's was just soaring, cos she's scared. So all that being said, due to as complications in who went on what rides, we did not have enough tickets to go on the Ferris wheel together and Zoren, super, I mean he was so good. He was, he was disappointed, obviously but he wasn't throwing a tantrum or anything like that. But you can tell, he was just extremely, extremely disappointed. And so, so I was like, what do I do. We literally have no more tickets. So, we have like, I wanna say we have like 3, 3 tickets left. So I gave those tickets to my younger kids. They went on some, some of the younger rides and we literally had zero tickets left and they also found, they also met this one girl named Brooke who, who was the cousin of one of the ride operators and she give, she, she had her own tickets and so they were going on some rides with her and. And so, this, long and the short is, we basically had no tickets, and Brooke had no tickets either and there was just. It's just, the Ferris wheel was not gonna happen. And my son, Zoren was highly disappointed. Super, super disappointed. So caveat before you freak out. I am Christian and so I believe that God wants to give us good things all the time and no matter how, how small or insignificant it might be because he is everywhere at every point in time and he is a good father, he wants us to have a good time. Just like any good father would. The, so I'm like, in my, my, in my mind, I'm like dude, Lord alright, alright Lord if you want, if you want us, then if you want Zoren to go on the, the Ferris wheel, you're gotta have to make it happen cos I'm not gonna go back and spend with, I mean we'd just spend a ton of money at Chuck E. Cheese. We just spend a ton of money with, with the, the Pumpkin Patch and I'm just, I'm just not gonna go, you know, I'm not gonna go do that, cos we can always wait till next week, when the rest of the kids cos 2 of my other kids can't go because they were sick. We could always wait till next week.

Well, about 5 minutes later, mind you, this is for 7 people if I'm including myself. 5 minutes later, we're standing next to the Ferris wheel, Zoren comes up to me and says, hey, look dad I found 2 tickets and they were these yellow tickets and, and the tickets we had were white. And I'm thinking, Oh, maybe those won't work but I've looked up and I saw people holding yellow tickets now so that must be that could do tickets that they, they had. He found 2 tickets that were on the ground, just sitting there, that's 2 tickets. About a minute later I guy comes over to my, my oldest daughter and or not my oldest daughter, my older, my older daughter that was there, second oldest daughter. Comes over to her, says hey we're, we're gonna go, we don't need this anymore, there's 4 tickets. So that's 6 tickets but we also have Brooke, right? So, the, Brooke is, is, is hanging out with us and I don't it, like I'm looking at her and I'm like, wow, we have enough tickets for our family. We haven't enough tickets for you and so I felt bad. I'm like yeah, I'm not gonna like that for, that would be pretty messed up and. And then so, Genevieve looks down on the ground and sees a, just a, a ticket with a tiny piece ripped off of it. Looks down on the ground and finds that out of all places, grabs it. We have 7 tickets. We're all able to go on to the Ferris wheel, all of us. So, it was 3 in one cart and 4 in the, just 3 in one cart and 4 in the other, and had a blast.

And so, why is this important? Well, you know, whether your Christian or not, whether you believed in God or not, you know, He exists. And He cares about you and loves you and wants to provide for you. Just like a good father provides for his sons and daughters. And, and even in the little things, cos the first thing I thought about it, in my mind, I'm like, why would God even care about this. This is so like, really well why would God care about this? Because to Him and I know this is, this is not a full business thing, but, it's not a business topic but it really is. Like it, this is, this is part of the spirituality side of things, right? You know, you have your body, you have your health, you have your business and you have your family and then you have your spirituality, right? So, and if you don't have that, you're just a one, one-dimensional guy or one-dimensional girl. And so, I'm like, why is He care about this? Like, that, that was a temptation, right? Why does he care about this? When He could worried about other things. Well, He's everywhere at the same time. So, to Him, when He's with you, doing stuff. He, as, as if you're the only one who exists and, and anybody else that is around the world, it's just that as if they're the only one who exists and it matters to Him for whatever reason. So, just go with it, just go with it. There are times where we struggle, that He, that He seems like He's far away. There's times when, when we're, when, like this, where we seems like He's really close for whatever reason. I don't know exactly why but that's just the way it is and so it's important because when you realize that someone actually cares about you, and wants, and wants the best for you, it makes a world of difference. Especially when that person is the creator of the entire world and the entire universe.

He was, he was disappointed, obviously but he wasn’t throwing a tantrum or anything like that. It’s just, the Ferris wheel was not gonna happen. The, so I’m like, in my, my, in my mind, I’m like dude, Lord alright, alright Lord if you want, if you want us, then if you want Zoren to go on the, the Ferris wheel, you’re gotta have to make it happen cos I’m not gonna go back and spend with, I mean we’d just spend a ton of money at Chuck E. Cheese. We just spend a ton of money with, with the, the Pumpkin Patch and I’m just, I’m just not gonna go, you know, I’m not gonna go do that, cos we can always wait till next week, when the rest of the kids cos 2 of my other kids can’t go because they were sick. We could always wait till next week.

Well, about 5 minutes later, mind you, this is for 7 people if I’m including myself. 5 minutes later, we’re standing next to the Ferris wheel, Zoren comes up to me and says, hey, look dad I found 2 tickets and they were these yellow tickets and, and the tickets we had were white. And I’m thinking, Oh, maybe those won’t work but I’ve looked up and I saw people holding yellow tickets now so that must be that could do tickets that they, they had. He found 2 tickets that were on the ground, just sitting there, that’s 2 tickets. About a minute later I guy comes over to my, my oldest daughter and or not my oldest daughter, my older, my older daughter that was there, second oldest daughter. Comes over to her, says hey we’re, we’re gonna go, we don’t need this anymore, there’s 4 tickets. So that’s 6 tickets but we also have Brooke, right? So, the, Brooke is, is, is hanging out with us and I don’t it, like I’m looking at her and I’m like, wow, we have enough tickets for our family. We haven’t enough tickets for you and so I felt bad. I’m like yeah, I’m not gonna like that for, that would be pretty messed up and. And then so, Genevieve looks down on the ground and sees a, just a, a ticket with a tiny piece ripped off of it. Looks down on the ground and finds that out of all places, grabs it. We have 7 tickets. We’re all able to go on to the Ferris wheel, all of us.

And, and even in the little things, cos the first thing I thought about it, in my mind, I’m like, why would God even care about this. This is so like, really well why would God care about this? Because to Him and I know this is, this is not a full business thing, but, it’s not a business topic but it really is. Like it, this is, this is part of the spirituality side of things, right? You know, you have your body, you have your health, you have your business and you have your family and then you have your spirituality, right? So, and if you don’t have that, you’re just a one, one-dimensional guy or one-dimensional girl. And so, I’m like, why is He care about this? Like, that, that was a temptation, right? Why does he care about this? When He could worried about other things. Well, He’s everywhere at the same time. So, to Him, when He’s with you, doing stuff. He, as, as if you’re the only one who exists and, and anybody else that is around the world, it’s just that as if they’re the only one who exists and it matters to Him for whatever reason. So, just go with it, just go with it. There are times where we struggle, that He, that He seems like He’s far away. There’s times when, when we’re, when, like this, where we seems like He’s really close for whatever reason. I don’t know exactly why but that’s just the way it is and so it’s important because when you realize that someone actually cares about you, and wants, and wants the best for you, it makes a world of difference. Especially when that person is the creator of the entire world and the entire universe.

"If everyone else is doing it, there must be something to it, right?"

We all tend to easily get carried away by listening to other people without first analyzing things on our own.

But, should we keep blindly following the crowd?

In this episode, Dean talks about how the traditional way of doing things might actually be compromising your system in your business and why questioning yourself why you're doing things a certain way is very important in getting your desired results.

Dean Soto 0:00 Hey, this is Dean Soto founder of freedom in five minutes calm and pro slim, calm prosulum.com. And today we're here with another freedom in five minutes podcast. Today's topic, is this

getting better results by doing things differently than everyone else. That more coming up.

Oh, well, well, well, we are back with another episode. This is absolutely fantastic. Wonderful. I'm out on a walk with Luna.

Tomorrow I'm going to be traveling

And this wasn't just with me, there is somebody in our family, I'm not going to in our extended family. I'm not going to name any names, but they're very near and dear to us. Who didn't who was not on board with natural remedies for sicknesses, eating healthy, all of that other jazz. And it's interesting because this person, this person, I, you know, I would expect it to be but, but they grew up in a

Oh, Scott spiral spider web tarantulas are coming out now. So that should be interesting. Anyway, um, so they, so it was interesting because but they lived in a generation where it was Word doctors are were very trusted. Right? You trusted your experts. It's funny because there was, it was an anti authoritarian generation of the 60s and 70s. That for whatever reason now trust all the all of the authorities. I've never found I've never understood why that is, but it just is. It's It's such a weird, weird thing. But anyway, all that being said, it was this anti generation that love the anti anti authority generation that now loves authority. And so, so this person had some medical issues going on high cholesterol, very, very high blood pressure, all these things that we're going to possibly lead to some really bad stuff. So, so they went to the doctor and the doctors prescribed them pills right. Doctors and there's nothing wrong with doctors at all. I'm not I'm not I'm not against doctors, right? I'm not against doctors what I am against is the blind, the blind, Hey, take this pill for this take this pill for that take this pill for this you have this doesn't send them okay? Take that pill for that just kind of the blind throwing of Big Pharma and you know, where the doctors are just, you know, Hawking these pills because it's kind of the latest and greatest thing. Right now, I'm not going to get into any type of political discussion or anything like that, but I just found this interesting because so the doctor did that exact same thing. Right. The doctor went and did the whole did the whole a. Okay, you have all of this stuff. Okay, here's these pills. Well,

she was supposed to take these pills. I want to say for a couple months. Before they, before they got a checkup, she went back and got a checkup. And when and also, when I just totally lost my train of thought I was looking at an anthill. Anyway, you get to lose your train of thought too. That's the way how this works if I lose my train of thought you lose it too. Alright, so, so anyway, she, so she's taking these pills there, it's going good, it's going well and and so on so forth. And, you know, it's not making her feel very good. It's making her feel kind of crappy. And so my, my wife's like, well, you should, you should take this for this and you should take this for this and you should take all these natural remedies for all of the things that she is that this person is complaining about, and is going to this doctor about

    Unknown Speaker 5:56 and

Dean Soto 6:00 This and so long story short, this person's checkup comes and keep in mind this person's like Yeah, yeah yeah okay yeah sure sure sure. In her in her very sweet loving way she's like yeah I don't know I don't know about that which craft that's just silly that's great craft there's no that's oh yeah you're gonna eat this magical Berry and this berries gonna make you not sick anymore huh okay what do you call this berries? blueberries Oh what a book? Yeah right so anyway, time goes by she finally actually starts listening to my wife and does the natural thing because that because the pills are making her feel like crap and once she does hmm after a while she's starting to feel pretty good pretty nice Everything is going great. Then after that, what happens? Hmm I'm, I go to my doctor, this is what happens. She goes to her doctor. And lo and behold, all of her all of the things that they were measuring for are perfect. And the doctor doctor literally looks at her and goes, huh, I was gonna raise your prescription like literally, this guy goes to her and tells her that without even looking at her without even looking at anything, he had already planned to raise her prescription. I was going to raise your prescription essentially because I know this thing, you know, as people were on this, that's all good. That's what normally happens. But uh, but everything Great keep doing what you're doing. So we, we get a text from this person saying I am a believer, it works. The natural stuff works is amazing yada yada, yada, yada, yada. All right. And so this because this person decided not to listen to the authorities not to do what everyone else was doing not to just blindly take whatever it is the authority wanted her to take. She is doing amazing and feeling amazing. So what's the point of this? Is it that we shouldn't listen to people who are in authority or or know more than us know. However, You have to use your own brain. But more importantly more importantly you there there are things but look, if you were to go is saying you've been eating like crap. So you've been eating like crap for years and you got sick and you want to start taking natural remedy the likelihood of it it actually working is going to be very low. The natural remedy for the most part, why? Because your system itself has been compromised. Okay, if you're eating like crap if you're basically eating dog food from places like McDonald's and, and Burger King and all these other places or even just half of foods, we'll just call them half foods where they have you know, all this other crap filler that's inside of them, your gut, your your stomach is being compromised, which then compromises everything else in your system. Ok. So the beauty of the, the the pill industry is that all the symptoms you have these pills are able to essentially mask or alleviate the symptoms, these nasty feelings that you're doing, but at the same time, everything's still compromised. Okay? And so here's the real point behind this is that in a lot of ways, your system not just your health system, but your system in your business is compromised. You have been led to believe that your business should run a certain way you should hire certain people you should bring on new software you

should have this type of margin, you should have all of these things because that's what everybody else does or what everybody else has. And so immediately your system is compromised.

And so when you start listening, because that is the traditional way of doing it, if you run a restaurant, this is how you run a restaurant. If you have a franchise, this is how you run a franchise. If you have a packing company, this is how you run a packing company. If you have that in your mind, and you just blindly follow then you end up into areas. One, you end up being like everybody else. Which maybe in some circumstances, that's great. If everyone else's a trillion they're great. Doesn't happen quite often. Or you end up dead or depressed. Your Business wise right now, in your life, in your business, what are you doing? That is the result of simply listening to other people. No research on your own, no innovation on your own. It's simply because that's the way it is. I challenge you to relook at everything that you're doing in your business and ask yourself why am I doing this? Why am I doing this? I have a friend who is also a client. They met from Cameron Orland supply His biggest competitor has hundreds of people. Hundreds of people he does close in revenue. And it's him, his wife, few sales people, his VSA that he has from freedom five minutes and personal. And a couple of drivers. That's it. That's it. Dean Soto 0:00 Hey, this is Dean Soto founder of freedom in five minutes.com pro zoom.com prosulum.com. And now, Legion, four dot business. That's crazy. That's a weird, that's weird. That's a weird URL. But anyway, welcome to the next freedom in five minutes podcast. Today's topic is this putting yourself out there brings great rewards that and more coming up. Oh, good morning. It's a nice chilly day over here and not so beautiful and got the smoke from the California firesall over the place but I'm outside with my beautiful dog doingour thing. It's been pretty awesome butultimately Lately, things are going, things are going great. Things are going pretty well, pretty well.

But yeah, so over the last few weeks, my buddy Paul and I were doing some we work talks, we're doing some talks that we worked out in Southern California. And it was a bit rocky for the both of us and the first couple ones we did who really wanted to redo and hammer home our presentation. But the last two that we did, we knocked it out of the park, it went really, really well on in a number of ways. And how do you judge when things kind of went well? Well. So that was cool. So the the two talks, the two latest talks, one was in Irvine, one was in Newport Beach, we went there and the community managers at we work absolutely amazing. Seriously, like in Irvine, Caroline was the main one over there and then kierston was the main one over in, in Newport Beach, which they had just opened up called Bayview over there. And, man, it was interesting. Just they they are just really cool people always welcoming. Try, they try their hardest to make you feel not just you feel comfortable for everybody else feel comfortable as well. And it was it was introduced. Cool. So the prior talks we we didn't structure our talk very well. And it was okay because it was the first to I mean, the part of the part of the thing is, you know, if you're going to fail at all, it's better to fail in front of 20 people than it is in front of thousands of people right. But this time around, I really wanted to share this one story that was on my on my heart, about why I do what I do and it has to do I'm not going to ruin it for you just in case you ever see my store part of my story when it comes to this stuff. But it has to do with me being overseas and one of my daughters and a medical condition. And so I started off with that story. And throughout that it kind of frame the entire talk. So for the second and third, so the for the for the last few talks that really frame that talk. And it was interesting, because, I mean, we go into these business, go into these business things, and we think that people would just want to know the, the next big technique and the strategy and that and that, but what really happens a lot of the times at these talks, especially if you're getting them if if you have this personal connection, that's what people long for.

And so one of the ways that I knew it went really, really well was people really resonated with the story. People really resonated with with what happened while I was overseas, and it was cool. Because we didn't, we didn't really make a ton of sales like right then and there, but people wanted to talk, they set up a whole bunch of appointments, we made a couple sales and things like that, which was cool afterward. And which I don't think would have happened. I mean, literally people sought us out after the fact. Yeah, of course, we got names and emails and things like that. But ultimately, people sought us out after and met, and it was such a beautiful thing, because you can tell that they really were. Were had really struck a chord and it's one of those things where I'm sure there are people who are like, who cares. I don't care like that, who completely did not relate to anything I was saying any of the stories that I that I was sharing and, and so on. But the ones who did relate. Really, we had a good connection. It was so fun talking with them, and just Sharing and helping. And so, so why is this important? That's important because one of the big decisions that you can make, one of the big strategies you can do is actually be real with yourself. I have a really hard time doing this because I think, especially in business, I think that people are going to find my family, find my family or my personal, my personal ideas, or whatever it might be. To be kind of a Why, why? Who cares? Like, honestly, who cares, right? And so I don't I don't know why I feel that way. But I always do. I feel like as though nobody's gonna want to know anything. And there are people who are going to be like, why are you constantly showing your family? Why are you constantly showing the things you care about? I don't care about This, but then there are going to be those people where they really do resonate. And they really do want to see how how you live or, or some personal sort of personal things about you. And so I just challenge you today, this is something that I've been trying to do a lot more. And it seems to seems to really draw, draw a more of a community is is opening up to your personal life when it comes to your business. And its course you don't want to show everything but but I'm being a lot more, a lot more liberal when it comes to that. And I've noticed that the more that I share who I am truly inside it rather than this, rather than you know, trying to be a business guru or a time product productivity management guru. The more that I do that, the more that I'm able, more that I open up to who I really am, the more It's affecting other people. And so I just challenge you this week to do that, whether it's through relationships, whether it's if you're doing a presentation, or you're doing some kind of business thing or whatever, just become a little bit more personal, in a way that is good in context with what you're doing. And see, see, just see the emotional response that you get. And I, I, I'm pretty certain that people are going to be able to connect with you, especially if you have a heart story if you have a story that really tugs on the heart as to why you're doing what you're doing. So anyway, that is the end of the podcast I was about to say I love you. Because I say that to my wife after phone calls.

Anyway. Anyway, I hope I hope you have a great rest of your day. This is Dean Soto freedom in five minutes, go check out freedom five minutes calm and I'll catch you on the next freedom in five minutes podcast.

Dean Soto 0:00 Hey, this is Dean Soto, founder of freedom in five minutes.com. And we're here again with another freedom in five minutes podcast episode. Today's topic is this. There's no such thing as success and failure only signals that and more coming up.

Well, hello. I am so glad to be back with you. This is a wonderful day and a really cool story that I think is going to resonate with you.

Well, so, my, one of my partners, Paul, and Mr. Paul Tran, and I went and spoke at we work we spoke we work I think I mentioned this maybe in the last podcast or one of the podcasts. But we went and we spoke at we work in Costa Mesa, California, both at Park center And Park tower which they're right next to each other. It's it's pretty hard to it's actually, I should say it was pretty hard to miss them. But I we actually did miss them when we first went there because they're so close to each other we didn't know if we were in the right one. But anyway, it was it was awesome, really interesting experience both days. So the first day, Paul, and I got up and so the way this the that the talk is structured, Paul, at least for now in this particular trial trial of these talks, Paul gives the the brunt of the presentation. He's been wanting to really break into the public speaking realm. I've been doing public speaking for a long time to include a full year of public speaking. While I was deployed in Kuwait, like literally every weekend it was doing public speaking with a given a doing some something with some kind of presentation with a military general Every weekend, it was not fun in the beginning, but afterward it became second nature is really awesome, actually.

    But I digress.

So he really wanted to get into the public speaking realm. And with that being said, is really cool because he, he really had a lot of courage and took the opportunity to, to develop himself really by putting himself in fire, just really going through and getting trial by fire. And so the first round, the first round and structure of the presentation, he got up there did extremely well that was one thing is that he had a really good stage presence about him and did extremely well and was extremely credible. And then hot potato the mic to me in about eight or 10 minutes, and I

pretty much delivered the rest of the presentation. Just improvising the entire thing.

But it was cool because people seemed to really love the presentation. They loved it, even though it was winging it. So we went later on that day, we went back to his house. And we ended up restructuring the entire talk, because of just how it just wasn't structured. Well, it didn't sell well, it wasn't it was just kind of odd, just in general, but people loved it because it was really informative. And, and I in Paul Paul was really, really good. And then I, you know, I've just been doing this for a while. So the first talk was just it just worked out really well. The second talk was structured really well, but I don't know if it was delivered well on both of our ends, really, Paul, Paul really hit hit a couple great base hits in the very beginning, and really had some awesome awesome things. But it was more it wasn't really the from the comparing. When he started the first one to this one. He was was like 900 times better. And Paul, I know you listen to these. So this is some good constructive criticism because I think you were night and day better. I mean, it was so good the second round. And I think it was more of the structure of the presentation, that it just didn't lend well to the topic that we had, which the topic was how it was blessing, the blessing the growth of your business. And so everything had to be put into this blessing type of it's kind of this frame that we're trying to put people into and trying to put this presentation into. And so he, so he did a really, really well, but it was hard because because we had we were trying to get Pete credit, put the presentation into this one frame, and it just wasn't working too well. So even when I got up, it was it was just very it was awkward. It just was an awkward thing all around. Right and And so it was cool because people enjoyed it. But at the same time, they gave some good criticism, one of those things being well, we don't really know what you guys do, like, you know, you're kind of there was kind of a little bit of a pitch, hey, you can work with us and so on and toward the end, but they honestly didn't know exactly what we did. And so it just was it was, it was a better structured presentation. But But even with that structure, there was a little bit more confusion than the first one. And so it so it's interesting, because that coupled with the fact that we were waiting, you know, we're waiting, we had this questionnaire and I was we were both actually afraid to look at these questionnaires and get them back and see if there's anything negative and so on. It's just, you know, you don't want to get I don't know, it's, there's that feeling in the pit of your stomach of Oh, I don't want to look at these because someone's going to say something bad or whatever. And, meanwhile, ignoring the fact that the majority of people are say nice things, knowing that they're going to turn this in, you know. So, all that being said, threw out everything that I just said, As for this story, one thing became clear. And Paul was so good at really reframing my mind around this, and that is that, really, there's no success or failure. When it comes to these things. There's only signals. Okay? And what I mean by that, you could say that, well, if you made a ton of sales, or you got a ton of claps, or people were super happy with your presentation, that was a success. Or if people didn't like the presentation, people didn't buy people didn't do what you expected them to do. That's a failure. But in reality, in reality, that is just the market that is those are people telling you something telling you that maybe it wasn't a good fit. Maybe the structure of the presentation wasn't good. Maybe the structure of the presentation was great. Maybe maybe the maybe the venue, people are not apt to buy something right away, or sign up for something right away or meet with people right away. Whatever it is, people are giving you a signal. At that point in time, they're giving you a signal. They're telling you this works, this doesn't work. We want this, we don't want this. And that is totally fine. Even the best part about it is either signal whether it's a negative or positive will help you to push your business forward. So if p if you go and you start launching a product or you come up with a new product offering or service or something like that

and people don't resonate With with the webinar that you did, or the email campaign that you did, that does not mean it's a failure. It might mean that you can't sell this particular thing directly from your email. Or people don't want to buy it off a webinar they want they want to buy it off a tele seminar or they want to buy it in person. You know, a lot of people will try to sell a high high ticket item by just putting up an online shopping cart and asking people to fork over $10,000 Well, that doesn't really work. The not all the time, but it could it depending on what, what, what industry you're in. But it's not always it's the day you're not always going to be able to do that. Right? You Some people like to meet you in person prior to forking over money. Some people don't haven't had They're mindset converted yet before, before even being able to give you money, right? Sometimes people look at what you have, and they're like, I just don't understand it. Because they don't, they don't know that they even have a problem yet. And so there's so many factors, there's so many things, so many signals that that people give you that once you interpret them once you see what they're trying to tell you because you have to, you have to be good at interpreting these signals. Once you see them, and once you look and and really ascertain what they are trying to tell you. They can be a gold mine. It could be so valuable to you and to your business. It can be an extremely profitable translation. If only you see it as data, if you see it as a signal as you see it as, as somebody trying to tell you how they want to buy from you. So what are you doing right now? What's one little thing that you can change or try put up? Maybe it's maybe it's sending direct mail to your customers, maybe it's sending email to your customers instead of direct mail. What is one thing that you can change and try to see if you're going to get the signal that you want? What's one thing that you can change and try to get the signal that you want? For me, just an example is I'm trying direct mail a lot more direct mail newsletters in the mail, like direct mail meaning in your mailbox, you will get this with goodies and goodies in sales letters and postcards and things like that. trying something that most of my market does not do. Right? Because they might be because they tried it and it doesn't work. Or it might be because they haven't tried it. Right. And so that's something that I'm going to see. And I'm going to see what the signals are. I'm going to see very quickly whether the market is telling me Yay, or nay. And it's fine. If it's an A, and it's great if it's a Yay. But even if it's a Yay, how much of a Yay, is it? Is it enough to wear to warn to continue or not? But that's how you have to look at it. This is all data. Don't take it personally. It's hard. It's scary. But don't take it personally. The more that you're able to not take it personally. The more you're able to turn this into an absolute goldmine for you, for your business and for your customers. Alright, so is Dean Soto freedom in five minutes, go check out freedom in five minutes calm And when you do you're going to see the business process scorecard you're going to see the masterclass there, get introduced to the freedom in five minutes methods so you do not have to you literally can every five minutes, you know, five minutes a day, you can outsource something so that you never have to do it again five minutes a day is all it takes.
