0:00 Hey this Dean solo founder of prosulum.com and freedominfiveminutes.com and we're here again with another freedom in five minutes episode Today's topic is this
0:16 five crappy puppies is no fun that and more coming up.
0:24 All right. Good morning. Good morning. So yesterday we were talking about how I got cut from a conference from speaking at a conference because I made the decision to cut 2000 people off my list. And those people complained those people complained to the event coordinator and they said, the event coordinator said I'm gonna have to remove you as the speaker blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Well, that's all good. So
0:53 what happened prior to all of this and I think this this particular story actually had something to do.
1:00 Do with me cutting out all those people as well. But what happened prior to all of this is that I had a buddy which he was the he was he was the first guest that we had buddy named Oliver come from Hawaii who was a client of mine still is a client of mine uses my pro some virtual assistants the system's The only systems virtual systems out there that will offload anything you want in five minutes or less
1:34 the
1:36 the but he was out here visiting and actually staying at my place for a little while and and it was toward the end do I want to see it was the day yeah it had to be the day before
1:50 Hold on one second. I keep getting a daddy what
1:57 anyway
1:59 keep it here.
2:00 Dad Dad
2:02 so he so we, I was I was out the way that my my land is as we are surrounded by two creeks they're both to seasonal creeks and we're both of these creeks Are you can see that over time a long time over the last few hundred or thousand years these these creeks have eroded these areas into these pretty deep little valleys
2:34 and
2:36 these deep little valleys
2:40 are they they kind of a little bit too hard to climb and everything like that. But I was out over on my land and I hear these these I hear the this this Oh,
2:57 and I'm thinking oh man, a dog just got ran over.
3:00 or something like that, because that happens out here in the country. Right? So dog, I thought a dog just rant and got ran over.
3:07 Well, I kept on hearing it. And I could not see, I cannot find. I had no idea where these things were or what, what, what it was. And so finally, I saw a little bit of movement, a little tiny bit of movement
3:24 across the, across the valley, across the ravine, or whatever it is, whatever you would call it, and,
3:33 and I saw it was just like little teeny tiny movements. And so I went and looked closer and I saw that they were puppies Now keep in mind it was raining and raining at the time. And so I'm looking at I'm like, oh crap. So I actually go and tell all of her Hey, come with me. I think I think somebody dumped off some puppies
3:53 so I went over, across and
3:58 oh, and down into my Creek and then
4:00 up the other side, and sure enough, there were puppies on the other side of this ravine. And I called out to him I said, I said, Come here, babies come here and one of them just bolted right to me. bolted right to me. The other one was a little bit hesitant but still didn't run away but it was a little bit hesitant. One One was kind of like a really cool little white brindle.
4:25 The other one was more just cocoa, kind of like a cocoa with a little bit of white spots here and there.
4:33 These guys are cute. They had to then maybe eight months old or something like that.
4:38 So we grabbed these two puppies and we brought them into our house
4:43 and gave in, warm them up, give them food and everything like that. And I was thinking to myself, Wow, this is great. Yeah, that's fine. Maybe will actually end up keeping one because Luna Luna is getting pretty to the point where she's she's. She's listening. She's good. We're good.
5:00 And so I thought this what but what what better thing to do then to you know maybe get another dog so now Luna has a friend
5:11 well
5:12 after all of this my kids loved it by the way after all of this the next day comes around and I head down to the chicken coop to go let the chickens out. And to do some free ranging and what do I hear?
5:28 And I'm like, oh my gosh. Did they let they let the puppies out? Who let the dogs out? Who let the dogs out?
5:36 Okay, that was really bad. Anyway, the but did somebody let the puppies out? Well, I go and I head toward where that sound was. And to my surprise, there were
5:54 three more
5:57 puppies.
5:59 Three more
6:00 puppies.
6:02 So I go and grab them. I bring them up and my wife was not excited.
6:08 nor was I. I actually had already gotten a crate for the other two. So now we had this huge crate for five puppies.
6:18 And the long story short while they were cute and cuddly and they were fun. Holy moly. Did they crap all over they crap all over that pen or that crate and it was one of those wire crates and I did not understand why why people why the breeder that we went to to get Luna said yeah, you don't want to get any wire crates because I'm thinking Oh, and yeah, there's not that big of a deal. Well, it's a big deal when you get teeny tiny specks of poo all over these wire things. So don't get these wire crates with puppies. By the way, it's sucks so they're putting their paws all over it and and
7:00 And they were screaming and yelling all night long. It was not I repeat, it was not a fun site five pooping puppies is never a fun site.
7:14 So we tried to we tried to get them re homed over here. But it was taking so long we ended up having to go to the to the kind of Humane Society thing that that the Fresno County has and drop them off there. But all in all, there were two big lessons to learn.
7:36 There are two big lessons to learn one one is something might look cute, something might look like it's
7:46 like it It wouldn't be that big of a deal. And it becomes much much harder as it keeps on going. As you let it continue to grow. let it continue to come into your life. It can turn into something that is a little bit
8:00 nasty.
8:02 The second thing is that at those points, you have to make a decision. Do you keep on going, do you do? Do we raise those five puppies? Do we? Do we keep going with it? Or do we? Or do we find a quick way to to help these these things. Or even though it might, might not might not be the easiest because it did take me a few hours to go and get to the place
8:31 a quick way to get them better help or get to get something to get something done to get something executed. Right. I hear you let me finish my podcast. Thank you.
8:46 So So what is the one thing right now that you've just you've let the the thing kind of pile up, you let it pile up and you haven't made the decision to actually do something about it. What's that one thing
9:00 Where you're starting to get more and more puppies that are crapping all over your life. crapping all over the things that you
9:08 that you cherish the people whom you cherish as well. We're starting to affect them what are what is something that you've if you know that even though it might be a little bit difficult if you take action right now you will not have to worry about it again. I urge you
9:26 in freedom in five minutes fashion to do that one thing do it now and do it as quickly as possible. All right, I'm playing Mr mom right now. So I'm going to head back into the house
9:40 go check out proscenium calm prosulum.com and freedominfiveminutes.com and I'll see you in the next freedom in five minutes. Episode.
You think puppies are cute? Well, they are. But... there are certain situations where they become your worst nightmare. In this episode you'll hear how 5 cute puppies turned into 5 cute little problems.

0:00 Hey this is Dean Soto, founder of prosulum.com and freedominfiveminutes.com and we're here again with another freedom in five minutes episode Today's topic is this
0:19 I got cut
0:23 that end more coming up
0:27 well good night this is actually night it is about 1130 and I'm doing this podcast I'm out here in the freezing cold but it's so worth it to be with you again gosh I'm so sorry that it has been a while man things had been crazy crazy crazy in fact it got crazy right when Oliver the guest our very first guest in the last episode left so
1:01 I'm going to get I'll give you a quick quick preview cuz I'm going to talk about what the craziness was in the next episode. But a quick preview for the next episode we had
1:13 literally had five puppies handed to us, and they were crapping all over the place. And it was interesting. It was a test of stress, but it worked out in the end and I'll tell you how it all worked out in the end in the next episode, but today's story goes a little bit something like this. So over the last few over the last few weeks, actually I have been preparing for what is called warrior week in the wake of warrior community there is a crucible there is a gauntlet a full
2:00 week that you go through if you want to get the whole the entire wake up warrior experience. Okay now I'm not affiliated with wake up warrior at all. I'm not a very affiliated with warrior book but if you have been listening to this podcast for any time you know that that is a big part of my life and a big part that is a big reason why I am even doing this podcast in the first place
2:33 it has literally changed my life It has given me the tools to
2:40 to not only live a meaningful and a very purposeful life it's given me the tools to also do things that I would have been terrified
2:55 to do in the past
2:58 now because of this training that
3:00 Basically how it works is where week is one week that you go and lack of a better word, you get the crap beat out of you with a whole bunch of different exercises and things like that. But it's not meant as not meant to be just like a boot camp type thing. It is meant to unleash a lot of emotions that are within you. And for you to face, your pit face. The things that you lie about, face the things that you are putting on a mask about because we all do this and we lock ourselves into these roles that
3:37 that other people try to put us in that we also put on ourselves. Okay, so that is what warrior week is when you were actually there. Of course, I've never even been there yet. But this is what I've at least from what I've seen so far and is a life changing event well
4:00 Pretty much a month before going into warrior week, you go into
4:09 a preparation mode, you go into a group of a bunch of other guys who have one or two coaches who are preparing you for warrior week. And it is it is not easy. It is not easy at all. Every day, every single day you have something to do you have an assignment and the assignment is something that you cannot escape from
4:41 you either you either do it or you don't go to worry a week
4:46 you are a member of the team, but you're also having to lead at some points and because of all of this, it even though it seems simple.
5:00 Even though sometimes it seems repetitive there are a lot of emotions that come from doing this because every day you're looking at something about yourself and you're sharing something about yourself with these other men who are essentially become your brothers you're sharing something about yourself
5:25 and slowly slowly starting to unmask the things about you that you've hidden or that if they've come out you've beaten back beat it back into yourself into the way that that that you think you're supposed to be or other people will come and say, hey, that's not you. That's where did that come from? And you go right back here. I you know, you're right. That was really bad on me to do then you go right back to where you were,
5:59 and so on.
6:04 Hopefully I'm not waking up my son up there, he always has his window open even though it's freezing.
6:11 And so
6:13 with all of this, you're constantly unveiling things about yourself that
6:22 that you that you
6:25 just imagine. Imagine if you ask yourself questions about yourself every day, if you really took a hard look at yourself every day, all of the changes that would occur Well, that is what is happening in this case. And a lot of the times is happening even more because not only do you have to look at yourself, you have to process it and explain it to other people.
6:49 And so there have been emotions inside of me. There have been things inside of me that I have either never felt before or either
7:00 felt him and I've suppressed them and there's things that are going on that
7:10 that
7:13 in some respects I like it even though it's dark
7:19 and that sounds very scary. But there are parts of me coming out that
7:27 that I that I thought were dark or I thought were not how I should feel or how I should act and it's coming out and I actually do like it
7:45 so which leads me to this entire story of me getting cut from being a speaker at a an Amazon Amazon
8:00 event that I was going to speak at in April.
8:08 Well,
8:11 so
8:13 one of the things that came up
8:16 is that
8:19 I had a very
8:24 nice guy demeanor.
8:27 And then on top of that, I always wanted to I wanted I had this feeling like this, this fear that I that I wanted everyone to like me and if they didn't like me, then something was wrong. That's not me. People have to like me. Everyone likes Dean right everyone like is Dean and so
8:49 So through this entire process. I started seeing things specifically about my business where I'm like, you know what,
8:59 I have a lot of
9:00 People who
9:03 who
9:07 I'm basically super boring absolutely super boring especially with the online Empire Academy stuff that I that I had been doing that and I don't really do much with it anymore but I actually think I am going to do some things with the email list and because I do not
9:27 take one side or the other, I do not challenge anybody. I am very very boring on that email list. I have I basically out of you know, I have 2000 I was looking at my Convert Kit. I had 2000 people who had never opened an email for like the last few months and I had been sending email after email after email, trying to give some really valuable stuff but 2000 people who were doing nothing literally just ignoring my email.
10:00 know and I'm like, you know what,
10:02 one of my things one of the things that I want one of the things that I want
10:10 is that
10:13 I want to have an impact on people for one and two, I want to hang around with people. I want people to be in my network in my social circles who are getting value from me, okay, value from me
10:33 value.
10:36 So if when I saw that there were 2000 people who were on my email list who literally never opened up an email in the last few months and I sent at least minimum 10 emails. I looked at that and said, You know what,
10:57 I need to I need to give them an ultimatum.
11:01 If because here's, here's the deal, if they're on my email list, I'm literally taking value from them. If they're on my email list, and they don't want to be, I'm taking value from them. They are,
11:15 they are,
11:18 they are basically getting their email bought their inbox full. It's, that's it, they see an unboxing it, you know, it's just one added little thing. And literally, that's taking value. They're not getting any value from my email. And it's actually taking value because it's filling up their inbox,
11:35 right? So I'm like, No, I do not want that. That is not how I roll. That is not what I want. And I don't want to be around people who don't want to be around me. And so I drafted up an email. This was after some of the warrior exercises I was doing. I drafted up an email and basically said, Okay, look, you have not open an email in 10 days.
12:00 And even these emails that as the last few emails I've invited you
12:05 to the person I've invited you to the event that I'm going to speak at plus
12:12 invited you to give to get you give you dinner
12:17 dinner with me for free at a really nice restaurant I had a really really nice restaurant planned like really really really nice restaurant
12:28 and
12:31 and then there you would essentially get one on one coaching and consulting from me so you I would literally pay you to come be with me and to consult just because you're a member of my community. Right so I so this is what I said in the email I sent you know, hey, you haven't opened the email
12:50 in I've sent about 10 and and I've even invited you to all these amazing things
12:58 you still haven't opened the
13:00 Email.
13:02 So here's the thing, here's the deal. You're getting subscriber unsubscribed. In fact, the title said, bye bye. You're being unsubscribed.
13:10 So, here
13:12 is the here are the three options that you have. The first option is to respond, keep me subscribed. And also, just tell me why you want to stay subscribed.
13:25 Second option
13:28 is you can reply with a nasty, nasty
13:34 comment,
13:37 you know, and asked me to unsubscribe you. And I put in parentheses you know, these are the loser types. these are these are the people who literally have not opened an email
13:49 not open an email in months from me,
13:54 but yet when they see that they're going to be subscribed. unsubscribed.
14:00 They look at the email and they go oh how
14:03 oh how Dean.
14:07 unsubscribe me. Oh my gosh. How Oh my I know they're clutching their pearls and then they go home well
14:15 I'm going to look up the courage to respond to him with a nasty email Oh I'd never wanted to be on your email list anyway Dean yeah let me let me draft up a I had one guy who dropped he drafted up like a huge paragraph
14:33 telling me why you know people aren't opening my emails or whatever and I'm like the dude you literally have not opened up my email any of them until I told you ravines unsubscribed and then now you
14:52 you're going to start coming back. I didn't respond. I really didn't even read anything that he wrote.
15:00 But now you're going to come back and just complain and complain and complain. So I said this in parentheses I basically said in the in
15:10 in summary I said you know, hey losers are going to complain. So this is number two number two option you know, this is the basically the loser option you know, you can respond with a with a complaint, you can respond with a nasty comment, but that's what losers do. You know, you you you'll take action. You won't take action on me on my dream drop shipping, which I've had several people who have become financially free because of that. They won't take action on systems. They won't take action on consulting. They won't take action on my free stuff. They won't it won't take any type of action, but they will take action to come back and complain. That's what losers do. They make some excuse Oh, Dean. I didn't take action because you guys
16:00 Cuz you're you're just not this or you're not that are you know oh gosh Thank you for subscribing me I had I had one guy who's like thank you for subscribing me I I've been trying to unsubscribe forever I don't like really you don't know how to frickin click a stupid button at the bottom of an email you're retarded you could if it was taking you that long you could have replied insistence just said unsubscribe me you're literally retarded. Okay so
16:33 so that was option number two. So anyone who responded with that type of email is a loser they are you know it to to respond with a nasty email like that you're a loser or Option number three was just click the unsubscribe button and below that's it. So option number one your winner because you stay on my email list and you want to you actually want to
17:00 to, you know, get some good information, you know, and so on so forth. Option number three, you're a winner because you just said, Okay, yeah, you know, good ideas. Just I'm going to click that unsubscribe button your winner. That's it. Option number two,
17:18 you're a loser you are because you're literally taking action to just complain and to make an excuse,
17:28 okay.
17:30 And so
17:33 one of the comments in there that I said was, you know, at least I took me at least I forced you to take action on something, even though it was option number two. So you took action on something, even if it was just complaining. So good job. Yay. But But ultimately, it's Dean, you're so mean. You're so mean. Oh, and so
17:56 so option number four. There was no option number four, but there were some
18:00 People who took an option number four and these are the super duper
18:06 super super super losers who
18:10 who basically went to the person who was putting on the event
18:15 it's still going to be an amazing event by the way like it's totally understandable that they you know if they get pressured part part of life not a big deal I'm not worried about it
18:27 but went to the person who's putting on the event and said oh Dean so mean he doesn't look at what he said he called everyone losers know I called you a loser because you're the one who is going and just complaining rather than just subscribing or saying, Hey, keep me on the list. You know, because yeah, I do like what you're doing either one you're going and complaining. And so they complained. Oh man, gosh, he's been he said all these bad things. And the host basically said hey, you know,
18:59 you know I'm getting a lot of pressure.
19:00 Sure and so on and so forth I'm gonna have to remove you as a speaker and I said yeah no problem I was just glad that it happened today because this is I booked my I booked my flight and hotel today and so at least I was able to cancel first class first past fight the flights are not cheap so so yeah that was that that was good
19:23 but anyway so yet you know she sent me a nice thing saying hey you know, you know it was gut wrenching when you said this in your email and blah blah blah and you know I can't you know use the word loser and stuff and I mean if you if once again if you looked at the email literally the only people who were losers are the people who complain who I knew were going to write back with some nasty comment and you know, she asked, you know, you should send you should send an apology, email, and yada yada and I'm like
20:01 Know fully understand, thanks for letting me know and canceled no apologies necessary on your part or on my part. And that's it.
20:10 So why is this important? Why is this important? It's important because there are going to be times where you have to make a decision to essentially cross the Rubicon,
20:25 essentially, to go with your heart and to to make a hard decision that, you know, is going to cause some kind of blowback.
20:36 You know, it's going to cause some kind of blowback For me it was getting cancelled and getting a lot of nasty comments and so on and so forth. do I care? No, because guess what, out of this I had two people I had two people, one lady who got burned by some stupid guru
20:59 quote unquote guru
21:00 Who took all of her money essentially? And what did what did I do? She responded because of that email telling me about all this and I'm giving her free 30 minute free 30 minute consulting session just so I can help her to get back on track.
21:24 If I did not do this, I would not help. Her
21:29 second person
21:31 was a wife who's taking care of her husband with cancer and has a disabled child
21:40 and said that she could not open her my my emails because she was so busy taking care of them but wanted to start an Amazon business
21:50 wanted to start an Amazon business
21:54 but could not do it because of all the stuff that was happening that she liked.
22:00 The content that she loved what I was saying but but I couldn't but she could not open emails over the last few months because of all of this stuff
22:08 and she's and and because of that I offered actually offered one of my courses to her for free
22:18 so that she could build wealth but you know what she did this is a real winner this is a real winner she already had based off of the last email she actually went back and looked at the the emails that I was sending and looked at the merge by Amazon emails that I was sending that had step by step freaking documentation step by step frickin systems
22:45 instead I think I'm gonna go with these actually because it's very, very hands off and it's perfect for my situation. So had I not sent this email out
22:57 how to not send this email out.
23:00 You would not have had access or even known I had sent those emails
23:07 and her family would continue to suffer would have continued to suffer
23:14 that to me those two situations to me
23:21 far outweigh getting cancelled far outweigh getting the losers
23:30 responding to me the way they were the losers going to the event coordinator
23:38 and getting the cancelled and everything like that
23:44 far outweigh
23:47 there's gonna be times when you need to make decisions like this
23:52 there's going to be times when you need to make decisions like this for me I'm going to be sharing a lot of inside stuff
24:00 with everybody that is in my circle,
24:04 so if you're on this podcast if you're on my email list and freedom in five minutes calm if you're on my client with pro Sue
24:14 anybody in my social circle is going to start seeing more of my inner workings, things that I'm not going to share. I'm simply not going to share with people who are deadweight
24:33 sometimes you're gonna have to make a decision like this
24:38 it's gonna hurt
24:40 and it's going to challenge you and people are going to say no, that's not who you are.
24:46 That's not who you are
24:50 in a set that time you have to make decision to say you know it should I go back? Yeah. Should I should I should I stay where I'm at and who other
25:00 People want me to be or am I going to be real to myself?
25:07 So what is one thing right now
25:13 that you know deep down inside you need to do
25:19 that is going to cause other people
25:24 to say that's not you.
25:27 That's not you.
25:29 You're You're this person over here.
25:34 What's that one thing that you've been dying to do? We're dying to say
25:48 and I challenge you
25:50 in five minutes to make the decision to do it
25:55 to make the decision to do it. It might be going on to your Facebook group.
26:00 or on Facebook in general and saying, Hey, I'm starting a business, this is what I'm doing. I'm going to start a side business. It might be where
26:10 you go to your boss, and you say, Hey, you know, this is, you know, I, I deserve a raise, I deserve a raise. Because this is who I am, this is what I've been doing for you
26:23 might be going to your employees and saying, Hey, we're going to be measuring here are the measurements that we are going to implement.
26:33 And they're going to say, well, you're happy go lucky. What? Why would you've never had us measure anything before? what's what's up with this? And I guarantee you some people are going to not like it. They might leave where they might cause chaos, but when you push through it, it's going to deliver massive results.
26:55 What's that one thing that you know you need to do?

Hey this is Dean Soto, founder of prosulum.com and freedominfiveminutes.com and we're here again with another freedom in five minutes episode Today's topic is this
0:19
I got cut
0:23
that end more coming up
0:27
well good night this is actually night it is about 1130 and I'm doing this podcast I'm out here in the freezing cold but it's so worth it to be with you again gosh I'm so sorry that it has been a while man things had been crazy crazy crazy in fact it got crazy right when Oliver the guest our very first guest in the last episode left so
1:01
I'm going to get I'll give you a quick quick preview cuz I'm going to talk about what the craziness was in the next episode. But a quick preview for the next episode we had
1:13
literally had five puppies handed to us, and they were crapping all over the place.
2:00
week that you go through if you want to get the whole the entire wake up warrior experience. Okay now I'm not affiliated with wake up warrior at all. I'm not a very affiliated with warrior book but if you have been listening to this podcast for any time you know that that is a big part of my life and a big part that is a big reason why I am even doing this podcast in the first place
2:33
it has literally changed my life It has given me the tools to
2:40
to not only live a meaningful and a very purposeful life it's given me the tools to also do things that I would have been terrified
2:55
to do in the past
2:58
now because of this training that
3:00
Basically how it works is where week is one week that you go and lack of a better word, you get the crap beat out of you with a whole bunch of different exercises and things like that. But it's not meant as not meant to be just like a boot camp type thing. It is meant to unleash a lot of emotions that are within you. And for you to face, your pit face. The things that you lie about, face the things that you are putting on a mask about because we all do this and we lock ourselves into these roles that
3:37
that other people try to put us in that we also put on ourselves. Okay, so that is what warrior week is when you were actually there. Of course, I've never even been there yet. But this is what I've at least from what I've seen so far and is a life changing event well
4:00
Pretty much a month before going into warrior week, you go into
4:09
a preparation mode, you go into a group of a bunch of other guys who have one or two coaches who are preparing you for warrior week. And it is it is not easy. It is not easy at all. Every day, every single day you have something to do you have an assignment and the assignment is something that you cannot escape from
4:41
you either you either do it or you don't go to worry a week
4:46
you are a member of the team, but you're also having to lead at some points and because of all of this, it even though it seems simple.
5:00
Even though sometimes it seems repetitive there are a lot of emotions that come from doing this because every day you're looking at something about yourself and you're sharing something about yourself with these other men who are essentially become your brothers you're sharing something about yourself
5:25
and slowly slowly starting to unmask the things about you that you've hidden or that if they've come out you've beaten back beat it back into yourself into the way that that that you think you're supposed to be or other people will come and say, hey, that's not you. That's where did that come from? And you go right back here. I you know, you're right. That was really bad on me to do then you go right back to where you were,
5:59
and so on.
6:04
Hopefully I'm not waking up my son up there, he always has his window open even though it's freezing.
6:11
And so
6:13
with all of this, you're constantly unveiling things about yourself that
6:22
that you that you
6:25
just imagine. Imagine if you ask yourself questions about yourself every day, if you really took a hard look at yourself every day, all of the changes that would occur Well, that is what is happening in this case. And a lot of the times is happening even more because not only do you have to look at yourself, you have to process it and explain it to other people.
6:49
And so there have been emotions inside of me. There have been things inside of me that I have either never felt before or either
7:00
felt him and I've suppressed them and there's things that are going on that
7:10
that
7:13
in some respects I like it even though it's dark
7:19
and that sounds very scary. But there are parts of me coming out that
7:27
that I that I thought were dark or I thought were not how I should feel or how I should act and it's coming out and I actually do like it
7:45
so which leads me to this entire story of me getting cut from being a speaker at a an Amazon Amazon
8:00
event that I was going to speak at in April.
8:08
Well,
8:11
so
8:13
one of the things that came up
8:16
is that
8:19
I had a very
8:24
nice guy demeanor.
8:27
And then on top of that, I always wanted to I wanted I had this feeling like this, this fear that I that I wanted everyone to like me and if they didn't like me, then something was wrong. That's not me. People have to like me. Everyone likes Dean right everyone like is Dean and so
8:49
So through this entire process. I started seeing things specifically about my business where I'm like, you know what,
8:59
I have a lot of
9:00
People who
9:03
who
9:07
I'm basically super boring absolutely super boring especially with the online Empire Academy stuff that I that I had been doing that and I don't really do much with it anymore but I actually think I am going to do some things with the email list and because I do not
9:27
take one side or the other, I do not challenge anybody.
10:00
know and I'm like, you know what,
10:02
one of my things one of the things that I want one of the things that I want
10:10
is that
10:13
I want to have an impact on people for one and two, I want to hang around with people. I want people to be in my network in my social circles who are getting value from me, okay, value from me
10:33
value.
10:36
So if when I saw that there were 2000 people who were on my email list who literally never opened up an email in the last few months and I sent at least minimum 10 emails. I looked at that and said, You know what,
10:57
I need to I need to give them an ultimatum.
11:01
If because here's, here's the deal, if they're on my email list, I'm literally taking value from them. If they're on my email list, and they don't want to be, I'm taking value from them. They are,
11:15
they are,
11:18
they are basically getting their email bought their inbox full. It's, that's it, they see an unboxing it, you know, it's just one added little thing. And literally, that's taking value. They're not getting any value from my email. And it's actually taking value because it's filling up their inbox,
11:35
right? So I'm like, No, I do not want that. That is not how I roll. That is not what I want. And I don't want to be around people who don't want to be around me. And so I drafted up an email. This was after some of the warrior exercises I was doing. I drafted up an email and basically said, Okay, look, you have not open an email in 10 days.
12:00
And even these emails that as the last few emails I've invited you
12:05
to the person I've invited you to the event that I'm going to speak at plus
12:12
invited you to give to get you give you dinner
12:17
dinner with me for free at a really nice restaurant I had a really really nice restaurant planned like really really really nice restaurant
12:28
and
12:31
and then there you would essentially get one on one coaching and consulting from me so you I would literally pay you to come be with me and to consult just because you're a member of my community. Right so I so this is what I said in the email I sent you know, hey, you haven't opened the email
12:50
in I've sent about 10 and and I've even invited you to all these amazing things
12:58
you still haven't opened the
13:00
Email.
13:02
So here's the thing, here's the deal. You're getting subscriber unsubscribed. In fact, the title said, bye bye. You're being unsubscribed.
13:10
So, here
13:12
is the here are the three options that you have. The first option is to respond, keep me subscribed. And also, just tell me why you want to stay subscribed.
13:25
Second option
13:28
is you can reply with a nasty, nasty
13:34
comment,
13:37
you know, and asked me to unsubscribe you. And I put in parentheses you know, these are the loser types. these are these are the people who literally have not opened an email
13:49
not open an email in months from me,
13:54
but yet when they see that they're going to be subscribed. unsubscribed.
14:00
They look at the email and they go oh how
14:03
oh how Dean.
14:07
unsubscribe me. Oh my gosh. How Oh my I know they're clutching their pearls and then they go home well
14:15
I'm going to look up the courage to respond to him with a nasty email Oh I'd never wanted to be on your email list anyway Dean yeah let me let me draft up a I had one guy who dropped he drafted up like a huge paragraph
14:33
telling me why you know people aren't opening my emails or whatever and I'm like the dude you literally have not opened up my email any of them until I told you ravines unsubscribed and then now you
14:52
you're going to start coming back. I didn't respond. I really didn't even read anything that he wrote.
15:00
But now you're going to come back and just complain and complain and complain. So I said this in parentheses I basically said in the in
15:10
in summary I said you know, hey losers are going to complain.
16:00
Cuz you're you're just not this or you're not that are you know oh gosh Thank you for subscribing me I had I had one guy who's like thank you for subscribing me I I've been trying to unsubscribe forever I don't like really you don't know how to frickin click a stupid button at the bottom of an email you're retarded you could if it was taking you that long you could have replied insistence just said unsubscribe me you're literally retarded. Okay so
16:33
so that was option number two. So anyone who responded with that type of email is a loser they are you know it to to respond with a nasty email like that you're a loser or Option number three was just click the unsubscribe button and below that's it. So option number one your winner because you stay on my email list and you want to you actually want to
17:00
to, you know, get some good information, you know, and so on so forth. Option number three, you're a winner because you just said, Okay, yeah, you know, good ideas. Just I'm going to click that unsubscribe button your winner. That's it. Option number two,
17:18
you're a loser you are because you're literally taking action to just complain and to make an excuse,
17:28
okay.
17:30
And so
17:33
one of the comments in there that I said was, you know, at least I took me at least I forced you to take action on something, even though it was option number two. So you took action on something, even if it was just complaining. So good job. Yay. But But ultimately, it's Dean, you're so mean. You're so mean. Oh, and so
17:56
so option number four. There was no option number four, but there were some
18:00
People who took an option number four and these are the super duper
18:06
super super super losers who
18:10
who basically went to the person who was putting on the event
18:15
it's still going to be an amazing event by the way like it's totally understandable that they you know if they get pressured part part of life not a big deal I'm not worried about it
18:27
but went to the person who's putting on the event and said oh Dean so mean he doesn't look at what he said he called everyone losers know I called you a loser because you're the one who is going and just complaining rather than just subscribing or saying, Hey, keep me on the list. You know, because yeah, I do like what you're doing either one you're going and complaining. And so they complained. Oh man, gosh, he's been he said all these bad things. And the host basically said hey, you know,
18:59
you know I'm getting a lot of pressure.
19:00
Sure and so on and so forth I'm gonna have to remove you as a speaker and I said yeah no problem I was just glad that it happened today because this is I booked my I booked my flight and hotel today and so at least I was able to cancel first class first past fight the flights are not cheap so so yeah that was that that was good
19:23
but anyway so yet you know she sent me a nice thing saying hey you know, you know it was gut wrenching when you said this in your email and blah blah blah and you know I can't you know use the word loser and stuff and I mean if you if once again if you looked at the email literally the only people who were losers are the people who complain who I knew were going to write back with some nasty comment and you know, she asked, you know, you should send you should send an apology, email, and yada yada and I'm like
20:01
Know fully understand, thanks for letting me know and canceled no apologies necessary on your part or on my part. And that's it.
20:10
So why is this important? Why is this important? It's important because there are going to be times where you have to make a decision to essentially cross the Rubicon,
20:25
essentially, to go with your heart and to to make a hard decision that, you know, is going to cause some kind of blowback.

23:14
that to me those two situations to me
23:21

23:30

23:38

23:44

23:47

there's going to be times when you need to make decisions like this for me I'm going to be sharing a lot of inside stuff

0:00 Hey this is Dean Soto founder of prosulum.com and freedominfiveminutes.com and we're here with another freedom in five minutes episode Today's topic is this we have our first guest that and more coming up
all right good morning we have a very special freedom in five minutes episode today because despite me
kind of coming into this podcast thinking that I would not have any guests on whatsoever because I didn't want to I made the decision to five minute decision to have a guest on and I might even have some more later on if you're lucky. Well
1:00 See, I'm not sure but the very first guest is actually a very very special one. And he is joining me on from the Soto compound in beautiful Central California and his name is Mr. Oliver Kelso. Hello everyone. Man. So Oliver give you a brief introduction of Oliver so you might not know more than likely you won't know.
1:33 But Oliver
1:35 at one point in time was one of my consulting clients and he
1:44 he utilized the virtual assistants the five minute assistance that I have at pro salon.com and did some just absolutely amazing things he took he took these guys to the next level he doubled his
2:00 Income me like cut his time in half from a daily on a daily basis and the beautiful thing is we've become very very very good friends and we've even done some cool types of work together and so all that being said Mr. Oliver I wanted to have you on the podcast one to introduce you and to to kind of give a little anecdotal five minute decision that might have changed your life something that that made your life absolutely 100% different than it would have been had you just done nothing so no pressure
2:45 but I wanted to do that but the first kind of kind of you can you can kind of get the group going by by just kind of introducing yourself a little bit as well everybody I'm this is all over here. I Dean is correct. I am in beautiful emphasis on view.
3:00 Full Southern Cal I mean central Central California with on his amazing property which is amazing
3:08 um yeah little background on me I
3:12 didn't have a lot of focus in my work life for a long time
3:18 had a decent job didn't pay that well met Dean
3:22 found out what incredible things he does and as a result I have not actually doubled he's incorrect I've
3:30 this point quadrupled
3:32 monthly income
3:34 so my I got Can I told you five minute decisions I made okay so the first five minute decision is big the second one small the first five minute decision was the day I met Dean and he goes hey man the current client I'm working with isn't really
3:51 cutting it but I really need to get this thing done so can we just have lunch together and I said okay
4:00 It was a 32nd decision or less that decision changed my life Dean has probably been my most influential friend or one of them to date besides my wife
4:10 she's number one and you know that that decision enabled me to start a whole new business I now do business development consulting as a result of it
4:20 I know he's he's he's really really good at it too man he's he's like extremely good at it better than me
4:28 not true.
4:31 I exclusively though use Dean's VA is because it it makes the whole machine work.
4:37 However, the I think the this morning the more impactful five minute decision was when I got a text from Dean while I was in bed half asleep, planning on going back to sleep for another hour that said, Hey, man, you want to come downstairs for my morning walk? I said
4:55 okay. Give me five minutes. I literally said that
4:59 and you know why let me
5:00 tell you why. Because life isn't comprised of it is comprised of big decisions. And I know that's the point of your podcast, Dean. So sorry. But life is really comprised of lots of small five minute decisions also. And the entire quality of my day would have been different. If I didn't get up this morning and go on this walk. It's gorgeous out here. It's refreshing. It puts me in the right mindset for the day it's meditative. It's wonderful. So to start one's day off that way, instead of, you know,
5:28 doing the usual lounging in bed, waiting for the alarm to jar me out of sleep, and then stumbling around I've got out and it's incredible, so that's fine. Let's take this five minute decision. I love it, man. And it's funny because, you know, a lot of people would say, you know, oh, well, that's not that big of a deal, right? I mean, if you woke up an hour earlier, or whatever, but yeah, I mean, we're out here enjoying this. It's this is a very particular time of day because at least when we're here, it's not too cold. It's not too
6:00 Warm you still have like the you you can hear the sounds of the waterfall. You don't hear any cars, especially on a weekend like this. Oh, by the way, he got up on a weekend which makes it even harder. Yeah, Saturday,
6:16 but they even with this is that now we have an hour to to walk. We haven't had my dog here but we have an hour to walk and talk. And usually at least from our past experience when we're doing this type of stuff, we have ideas pop up that actually
6:37 actually manifest later on in our life. And I mean,
6:46 there's there's been tons of different times where we've been talking or we've been at lunch, we come up with an idea and it's made us a lot of money, right? Yeah. Oh, yeah. So I think we came up with one over that bonfire last night. Yeah, I'm pretty sure yeah.
7:00 So, so so the here's the here's the big important thing with this is that that that the big big thing is to make a decision just like I've been saying in this podcast is that that it's it's way better to make a decision and move than to not make a decision decision. In fact, we were just talking last night about some investment decisions. Oliver is extremely good with numbers and with with investments and things like that, and the the thing with with that is that I decided at that point I'm like, know what I'm going to become the student here and I'm going to learn what he knows about this stuff. I'm going to show him my numbers and see where it takes where it takes us. And in fact, at that point in time, we were we were at we were at Cool Hand Luke which is the
8:00 A restaurant and here I am making it moving, moving 50 you know, plus thousand dollars from one environment to another. So
8:12 that was a five minute decision that that that wouldn't have happened another way from a ton of money is what it's going to do is see i love it i love it if you didn't hear that he said he's gonna saved me a ton of money. So but the biggest thing one more note, five minute decision. Five Minute decisions that challenge your the status quo I find are often the most impactful. Yeah, for me any five minute decision where I'm like, I don't want to do this thing and I get up and do it. Yeah, something in me tells me I should do it. Those are the ones I love. It was the ones that are like I love it. It's my life. I love it. So what can you do today as always action step right. What is one thing that you can do today or or tomorrow maybe it might be waking up
9:00 Early maybe it might be just looking at your numbers. It might be looking at your expenses and saying hey I don't need this thing anymore or might be looking at
9:11 something else and actually taking action on it What's that one thing that you can do
9:17 that even if it seems small you make the decision to do it and over time it brings tremendous amount of value to your life. right there's Dean Soto with freedom in five minutes. Go to pro Suan calm if you want to five minute virtual assistant, someone that you can show how to do something, whether it's through the through an iPhone video, a screen cast, or even an audio you show them how to do something in five minutes. They documents step by step the entire thing
9:53 and then you never have to do it again. They'll do it forever for you.
10:00 Go check that out prosulum.com and go check out freedominfiveminutes.com as well and I will catch you in the next freedom in five minutes episode.

0:00 Hey this is Dean Soto, founder of prosulum.com and freedominfiveminutes.com and we're here with another freedom in five minutes episode Today's topic is this
0:19 Don't underestimate
0:22 the power of connections that and more coming up
0:28 so good morning good morning I can't tell I'm still in the city all those cars behind me I'm trying to find out as I'm doing this podcast so nice when we're going to come when I'm in the country and there's literally no sound whatsoever so it sounds nice. So I'm not having to having to fight this traffic. So let me see if I can go into this area over here, which should be a little bit quieter anyway. What ever
0:59 so
1:00 had a couple of cool things happen the last couple of days that show
1:09 show the power of,
1:14 of just making some kind of connection can and the opportunity loss when you don't
1:25 or the opportunity costs I should say. Alright cool. So we're going to
1:30 start speaking up the normal way. Okay I think we're good over here. All right, sorry. Whatever reason, I'm kind of kind of nervous right now. It's kind of weird. Anyway, so the
1:41 the
1:47 so I just got finished right now
1:50 doing my kind of morning routine and did some did some Barbies. I need to go get my green smoothie, got to do some other things like my
1:59 Love notes my my kids and my wife and so on,
2:04 but just got finished with the majority of that. And
2:11 the interesting thing was
2:14 especially this is not it is pretty I guess normal for city folk but
2:21 toward the end I was walking on the sidewalk and I had a jogger go by he was an older guy maybe looks probably around 60 something jog in it, looking directly at me as he's coming down
2:40 and then at the very end proceeds to I say good morning and he literally had nothing is yours. Nothing at all. looks away and says nothing.
2:53 And I'm like, Ooh,
2:56 that kind of hurts. Right? That literally just complete
3:00 Lee blows me off and that's that you know I'm not gonna lie, it hurts hurts my ego and probably hurt your ego and and so on. Not that not that that's the reason why I'm bringing this up in the first place but it was kind of the trigger it was kind of the trigger that made me think about this and some of the things that have happened throughout the last few days well
3:26 well so here's that guy who who walks by who
3:32 who
3:34 if you think about it, and it's not it's not necessarily reality that this would actually happen but if you think about it, how many opportunities are missed simply by not connecting with somebody for
3:54 a minute or two Not that I wanted to stop but obviously say you know, to be nice to say hi, but
4:00 At the same time, when you think about it,
4:05 think about all of the things all of the times, you could be missing a really, really good connection, a really, really good connection with somebody,
4:17 that connection could be a friendship, connection, a business connection, it could be a spiritual connection and so on, simply by not engaging with the person.
4:30 So on the flip side of this,
4:33 yesterday, I had a guy I'd met with a friend that is visiting from Hawaii, who I also do some consulting with and I met him through a mutual connection
4:49 and decided to because of that connection. We decided to to talk a little bit more and then ended up developing a great friendship. In fact, she's good at
5:00 I'm Sarah house later Later this week for a couple days
5:07 and the here's the thing is that
5:10 that connection
5:13 a friendship with him not only not only because I could have
5:21 at the time I could have blown him off
5:25 because he worked for a customer that I was doing some consulting work for and he was essentially an employee and I could have stuck my nose up at him and said said well I you know I'm Mr. Amazing consultant to
5:46 they're paying me a lot of money to be here and you pee on little employee p on little employee and I shall just jog right past you as if you didn't exist I could have done
6:00 I could have I could have totally done that. Right? And there are a lot of people who probably would,
6:06 but
6:07 I'm making a point. This is my five minute decision. I make it a point to always connect with just about everybody. If it's an organization that's, you know, under 20 people, I'm going to make it a point to connect with just about everyone in that organization. Doesn't matter if they're
6:31 if they're the janitor, I literally will connect with the janitor because you you just don't know if that person what if what if that person is a janitor because they that they had certain circumstances happened but they actually have connections to a lot of other people. Not that you want to do this just so you can get business connections, but you just you never know right? You never
7:00 Know so it's important Good morning how's it going
7:05 so you never ever know
7:09 what it's going to lead to
7:13 when you make this connection so with with this particular friend
7:19 he was working with this one financial services company and it ended up being not just a friendship because I could have I could have blown him off but I was I became friends not only with him but also with his entire family and
7:34 and now we're actually doing consulting together because the guy is a genius with numbers absolute genius with numbers
7:43 and because he's a genius with numbers, it actually helps me we're a great duo when we're going into these
7:55 going to going into these different businesses and
8:00 Actually some consulting with him because he's great at looking at how their current profitability and what certain things can change in order to become more profitable, I'm good at then setting up the infrastructure for it
8:15 and getting virtual assistants go in and so on.
8:20 And so it works out really, really well. In fact, I just did. So yesterday we got out of a meeting with a client that we're working with, how's it going man
8:31 got out of a meeting with a client that we're working with where we were sitting, essentially
8:39 renegotiate your contract because they saw such massive gains
8:46 just basically offer something that was only half of what they what they paid us for. So because of those those games, they wanted us to start doing some of the things that they weren't paying us for, that we're kind of out of.
9:00 So we're we we had to renegotiate. And so we're in talks with that so here is this guy who
9:12 if if I did not make the connection we would not be working on these high level contracts
9:21 that bring in you know, hundreds of thousands of dollars to both into both of our pockets. I could have literally just jogged right past them stick my nose in the air said you are just a small little pee on Who were you when when I came Dean King Dean
9:44 and this high level consultant I literally was would have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars working with him but on top of that, on top of that he yesterday he he introduced me to
10:00 He introduced me to somebody that
10:05 that is a perfect perfect strategic partner for personal items, virtual assistant, the systems and process virtual assistants that we use there.
10:17 And that's literally just came because he had talked to somebody and was like, wow, this is this is great. And so he's also referring people for the virtual assistant side of things.
10:29 This is
10:33 where
10:35 this is where
10:40 the topic of this podcast is so important.
10:47 It literally takes less than five minutes to make a connection with people. This is why this is so important. It literally takes less than five minutes find out who they are, what they do.
11:01 where they live, what their what, what their, what their families like and so on.
11:09 And how many times do we literally fail to make these connections
11:19 because of some stupid excuse.
11:23 I'm jogging. I don't want to make a connection. I'm at a coffee shop and just ordering a latte. I don't need to talk to anybody.
11:34 I don't want to go to that networking event. I don't want to go and reach out to a reach out to somebody at a at a at a prospective agency that could be a potential client. I don't want to go talk to that person that I see at church every day that I just wave to
12:00 Find out what their name is and who they are
12:05 how many missed opportunities
12:13 I can tell you that the majority of my business has come from
12:20 people who I just took the time to get to know
12:27 and that's it.
12:29 I took the time to get to know
12:35 and they have brought me hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of business.
12:44 So if you just want to be pragmatic,
12:51 you just want to be pragmatic and just follow the money
12:59 the morning
13:00 connections that you truly make true connections and true connections don't have to be super long more connections that you make,
13:09 the more
13:13 you're going to see success in
13:16 business. And if you want, you'll see success in everything else as well.
13:24 So what are you doing right now? How many connections have you made?
13:32 How many connections have you made this week?
13:42 And how many
13:44 do you plan to make in the next few days?
13:51 I just want you to try try and make at least one connection this week with somebody you might be at a Starbucks you might be
13:59 somewhere but say hi what your name is what they do where they're from and so on. Yeah sure nobody does this anymore especially in the city nobody does this
14:11 but that's what makes you different that's what's going to bring massive results in less than five minutes all right this is Dean Soto founder of prosulum.com p-r-o-s-u-l-u-m.com. If you want to systems and process virtual assistant that can take anything you're doing right now you show them in five minutes how to do it, they will document it and then take it over so you never ever have to do it again. Go to prosulum.com
14:43 and you can check out freedominfiveminutes.com and get on our mailing list and subscribe to the podcast as well. Once you're on the on the mailing list, you can subscribe in iTunes. Alright, so all that being said, I will see you in the next freedom in five minutes episode

toward the end I was walking on the sidewalk and I had a jogger go by he was an older guy maybe looks probably around 60 something jog in it, looking directly at me as he's coming down
2:40
and then at the very end proceeds to I say good morning and he literally had nothing is yours. Nothing at all. looks away and says nothing.
2:53
And I'm like, Ooh,
2:56
that kind of hurts. Right? That literally just complete
3:00
Lee blows me off and that's that you know I'm not gonna lie, it hurts hurts my ego and probably hurt your ego and and so on. Not that not that that's the reason why I'm bringing this up in the first place but it was kind of the trigger it was kind of the trigger that made me think about this and some of the things that have happened throughout the last few days well
3:26
well so here's that guy who who walks by who
3:32
who
3:34
if you think about it, and it's not it's not necessarily reality that this would actually happen but if you think about it, how many opportunities are missed simply by not connecting with somebody for
3:54
a minute or two Not that I wanted to stop but obviously say you know, to be nice to say hi, but
4:00
At the same time, when you think about it,
4:05
think about all of the things all of the times, you could be missing a really, really good connection, a really, really good connection with somebody,
4:17
that connection could be a friendship, connection, a business connection, it could be a spiritual connection and so on, simply by not engaging with the person.
4:30
So on the flip side of this,
4:33
yesterday, I had a guy I'd met with a friend that is visiting from Hawaii, who I also do some consulting with and I met him through a mutual connection
4:49
and decided to because of that connection. We decided to to talk a little bit more and then ended up developing a great friendship. In fact, she's good at
5:00
I'm Sarah house later Later this week for a couple days
5:07
and the here's the thing is that
5:10
that connection
5:13
a friendship with him not only not only because I could have
5:21
at the time I could have blown him off
5:25
because he worked for a customer that I was doing some consulting work for and he was essentially an employee and I could have stuck my nose up at him and said said well I you know I'm Mr. Amazing consultant to
5:46
they're paying me a lot of money to be here and you pee on little employee p on little employee and I shall just jog right past you as if you didn't exist I could have done
6:00
I could have I could have totally done that. Right? And there are a lot of people who probably would,
6:06
but
6:07
I'm making a point. This is my five minute decision. I make it a point to always connect with just about everybody. If it's an organization that's, you know, under 20 people, I'm going to make it a point to connect with just about everyone in that organization. Doesn't matter if they're
6:31
if they're the janitor, I literally will connect with the janitor because you you just don't know if that person what if what if that person is a janitor because they that they had certain circumstances happened but they actually have connections to a lot of other people. Not that you want to do this just so you can get business connections, but you just you never know right? You never
7:00
Know so it's important Good morning how's it going
7:05
so you never ever know
7:09
what it's going to lead to
7:13
when you make this connection so with with this particular friend
7:19
he was working with this one financial services company and it ended up being not just a friendship because I could have I could have blown him off but I was I became friends not only with him but also with his entire family and
7:34
and now we're actually doing consulting together because the guy is a genius with numbers absolute genius with numbers
7:43
and because he's a genius with numbers, it actually helps me we're a great duo when we're going into these
7:55
going to going into these different businesses and
8:00
Actually some consulting with him because he's great at looking at how their current profitability and what certain things can change in order to become more profitable, I'm good at then setting up the infrastructure for it
8:15
and getting virtual assistants go in and so on.
8:20
And so it works out really, really well. In fact, I just did. So yesterday we got out of a meeting with a client that we're working with, how's it going man
8:31
got out of a meeting with a client that we're working with where we were sitting, essentially
8:39
renegotiate your contract because they saw such massive gains
8:46
just basically offer something that was only half of what they what they paid us for. So because of those those games, they wanted us to start doing some of the things that they weren't paying us for, that we're kind of out of.
9:00
So we're we we had to renegotiate. And so we're in talks with that so here is this guy who
9:12
if if I did not make the connection we would not be working on these high level contracts
9:21
that bring in you know, hundreds of thousands of dollars to both into both of our pockets. I could have literally just jogged right past them stick my nose in the air said you are just a small little pee on Who were you when when I came Dean King Dean
9:44
and this high level consultant I literally was would have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars working with him but on top of that, on top of that he yesterday he he introduced me to
10:00
He introduced me to somebody that
10:05
that is a perfect perfect strategic partner for personal items, virtual assistant, the systems and process virtual assistants that we use there.
10:17
And that's literally just came because he had talked to somebody and was like, wow, this is this is great. And so he's also referring people for the virtual assistant side of things.
10:29
This is
10:33
where
10:35
this is where
10:40
the topic of this podcast is so important.
10:47
It literally takes less than five minutes to make a connection with people. This is why this is so important. It literally takes less than five minutes find out who they are, what they do.
11:01
where they live, what their what, what their, what their families like and so on.
11:09
And how many times do we literally fail to make these connections
11:19
because of some stupid excuse.
11:23
I'm jogging. I don't want to make a connection. I'm at a coffee shop and just ordering a latte. I don't need to talk to anybody.
11:34
I don't want to go to that networking event. I don't want to go and reach out to a reach out to somebody at a at a at a prospective agency that could be a potential client. I don't want to go talk to that person that I see at church every day that I just wave to
12:00
Find out what their name is and who they are
12:05
how many missed opportunities
12:13
I can tell you that the majority of my business has come from
12:20
people who I just took the time to get to know
12:27
and that's it.
12:29
I took the time to get to know
12:35
and they have brought me hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of business.
12:44
So if you just want to be pragmatic,
12:51
you just want to be pragmatic and just follow the money
12:59
the morning
13:00
connections that you truly make true connections and true connections don't have to be super long more connections that you make,
13:09
the more
13:13
you're going to see success in
13:16
business. And if you want, you'll see success in everything else as well.
13:24
So what are you doing right now? How many connections have you made?
13:32
How many connections have you made this week?
13:42
And how many
13:44
do you plan to make in the next few days?
13:51
I just want you to try try and make at least one connection this week with somebody you might be at a Starbucks you might be
13:59
somewhere but say hi what your name is what they do where they're from and so on. Yeah sure nobody does this anymore especially in the city nobody does this
14:11
but that's what makes you different that's what's going to bring massive results in less than five minutes all right this is Dean Soto founder of prosulum.com p-r-o-s-u-l-u-m.com. We talk a lot about scaling and building out systems in this podcast, but one thing that I don't think we've talked about ever is building something that can outlast you. In this episode you hear a story about how one person who is very near and dear to my heart has created something that has lasted for over 40 years and has touched the lives of literally thousands of people in a positive way.
This is not somebody who you would expect either. It somebody who is not in the business world but has done more than many small business leaders have ever done. What are you building that can outlast you right now? What are you doing that will leave a legacy for decades?
