  • From Stand Up Comedy to Building a Comedy Revolution | Leanne Linsky

Leanne Linsky is a comedian turned entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of Plauzzable, a live online comedy platform designed to connect comedians, producers, venues and fans through live comedy.

Leanne's journey began in 2001 when she took her first comedy class. She eventually moved to New York to pursue comedy full time, performing, producing and hosting shows for years before moving to Los Angeles. Her experience as a comedian exposed a major challenge: talented performers needed more opportunities to perform, connect with live audiences, receive real time feedback and earn income from their work.

In 2019, Leanne began experimenting with online comedy shows. That experiment eventually became the foundation for Plauzzable. She returned to school and earned a Master of Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the University of California, Irvine before joining an incubator and turning her idea into a business.

Today, Plauzzable is built to make live comedy more accessible while giving comedians more opportunities to perform, grow their audiences and earn income. In this conversation, Leanne shares what she learned from being a performer, why she decided to become an entrepreneur, how technology is changing live entertainment and where she believes comedy is headed next.

What happens when the patterns that shaped us in childhood begin to affect the relationships we build as adults?

In this episode of Freedom Unlocked, I sit down with Eric Williams, relationship expert, marriage and family therapist, former U.S. Army paratrooper, author, husband, and creator of DCIA, Done Carrying It Alone. Eric combines clinical training, military experience, and more than 20 years of marriage to help people understand the deeper reasons relationships struggle.

We explore communication, emotional disconnection, relationship patterns, healthy conflict, marriage, parenting, and the importance of identifying the root causes behind relational problems rather than simply treating the symptoms.

  • Beneath the African Sun: Journalism, Adventure and the Africa That Changed a Life | Barry Maughan

Barry Maughan spent four decades as an international broadcast journalist, with much of his career focused on Africa. His relationship with the continent began in Ethiopia, where he worked as a broadcast and print journalist from 1969 to 1975. During that time, he covered the dramatic events surrounding the overthrow of Emperor Haile Selassie and reported on the devastating drought and famine that affected northern Ethiopia.

Between his two assignments in Ethiopia, Barry and his then wife, Suzanne, undertook an extraordinary solo overland journey from Alexandria, Egypt, to Cape Agulhas in South Africa. They travelled approximately 8,000 miles through 15 African countries in a Volkswagen Kombi Bus, without modern navigation or communication technology, and for much of the journey had their one year old son with them.

Barry later spent more than two decades broadcasting to audiences across Africa through the Voice of America's English to Africa Service, including hosting a popular daily sports program under the name "The Ole Sports Emperor." His memoir, Beneath the African Sun, captures the personal experiences, adventures, risks and professional moments that shaped his relationship with Africa.

In this conversation, Barry takes us behind the headlines and beyond the tourist experience to explore what Africa was like more than five decades ago, what he learned from its people, how journalism shaped his life, and what it was really like travelling across the continent with a young family.
