Rom 8-31 What shall we then say to these things- If God be for us, who can be against us--Rom 8-32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things--Rom 8-33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect- It is God that justifieth.-Rom 8-34 Who is he that condemneth- It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.-Rom 8-35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ- shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword--Rom 8-36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long- we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.-Rom 8-37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.-Rom 8-38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,-Rom 8-39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

There is in this world of woe a people chosen and redeemed by God, a people for whom all the wonders of providence are performed, a people chosen and numbered for war, a people who shall be crowned with all the glory of heaven when their journey is done.

Act 2-1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.-Act 2-2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.-Act 2-3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.-Act 2-4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.-Act 2-5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.-Act 2-6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.-Act 2-7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans--Act 2-8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born--Act 2-9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,-Act 2-10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,-Act 2-11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.-Act 2-12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this--Act 2-13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

I am certain that few passages in the Word of God that have been more horribly misinterpreted and misused than my text for this message - 1 Corinthians 11-27-29.

It is with great joy that I come here today to declare to you from Holy Scripture that there is a way from the City of Destruction to the Celestial City. There is a way by which you and I, separated from God by a great gulf of sin, may come to God himself and live forever.
