Fremantle Ports has introduced a volunteering program, ‘Friends of Fremantle Ports’. The program’s purpose is to inform and educate the public about port operations and contribute to the further activation of Victoria Quay. Being aware there was a keen interest in how ports functioned and also in Victoria Quay generally, Fremantle Ports ran a series of four ‘Port Walks’ in 2019 which were immediate sell-outs. The ‘Friends’ program increases the organisation’s capacity to meet this need, in a cost-effective and engaging manner.
