During the early 20th century women in most states weren’t allowed to carry knives but you do know what they were allowed to carry? Hatpins. Today we’re talking about the forgotten period of early 20th century American history where women armed themselves with fashion accessories and men became so anxious they killed a whole fashion industry.

Well Becca made history by finally guessing a title correctly! Today Mikaela and Becca dive into the oldest mystery in America...The Lost Colony of Roanoke which in reality wasn’t that lost.  First discussing the prior two expeditions to North America, Mikaela teaches Becca about the detailed plan John White made with the settlers before returning, the blatant signs England ignored, hundreds of years of historical neglect,  and the colony that went down in infamy. Not to brag or anything, but we may have just solved this mystery.

We all know the old saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away!” While we may not entirely know how that saying came about, one thing is for sure: where we’re going it’s best to stay away from any doctors we may encounter. This week Mikaela and Becca dive into the dancing plague that terrorized a little French town in 1518. Highlights include a rundown of Footloose, fairytale knowledge gained primarily from Shrek 2, how (not to) pronounce the plural of octopus, a bare bones run down of Christian Indulgences, as many dancing puns we can make, and of course the forty day boogie fever that put Strausborugh on the historical maps.

Many sources were referenced for this but Mikaela found "A Time To Dance A Time To Die: The Extraordinary Story of the Dancing Plague of 1518" by John Waller the most useful.
