Covid-19 brought us one of the biggest stock market crashes in history and if you are interested in investing, I laid out a simple step by step way to invest in the stock market for beginners.
Disclosure: The tips and information provided in this podcast episode are solely based on my own experiences and opinions. I am not a financial advisor and would like to disclose that the market during this time is volatile and even veteran investors are losing money during this time.
Tips from the Episode:
My top broker platforms you can use to get started for beginners:
1. Robinhood: For investors looking to conduct the bare-bones basics, Robinhood gets the job done well. Robinhood's mobile app is easy to use and ideal for newbies. That said, Robinhood provides little to no market research or trading tools to help beginners make better informed investing decisions. Drawbacks aside, Robinhood's no-frills approach to online trading is enough to earn it a recommendation. There is no minimum deposit required to open an account at Robinhood, and stock trades are free.
2. Charles Schwab: Alongside an excellent selection of market research alongside an easy to use the website, Charles Schwab delivers a thorough educational experience that will satisfy beginners. Schwab's specialty is retirement, which makes it ideal for investors who want to take a long term approach to understand the stock market. There is no minimum deposit required to open an account at Schwab, and stock trades are free. If you open a high yield checking account with Charles Schwab it automatically comes with a brokerage account making investing easy and the checking account is a high yield interest account up to 1%.
3. WeBull: Another commission-free broker app. Also, If you open a Webull account, you'll get up to two free gifts of stock. One free stock valued from $2.50 to $250 if they open Webull brokerage account and another valued from $12 to $1,400 if you deposit no less than $100. Who doesn’t want free money?
Good research websites:
· Motley Fool – Best for Stock Recommendations.
· Yahoo! Finance – Best All-around Stock Research Site. Both give news, finance, and personal insight from the author.
· Zacks – Best for Analyst Ratings. This is my favorite, cut, and dry and gives you good break downs of the companies’ finances.
