China had a total of 369,935 companiesthat offer language services by the end of June this year, according to areport released Saturday.
The number of companies with languageservices as their main business reached 9,734, with a total output value of37.2 billion yuan, an annual increase of 3.6 percent, said the report issued atthe annual meeting of the Translators Association of China. (Xinhua)

US President Donald Trump said on Fridayhe was considering attending Russia's May 9 Victory Day commemorative eventsafter Russian President Vladimir Putin extended an invitation.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister SergeiRyabkov was cited by RIA newsagency as saying that Putin's invitation to his UScounterpart to attend Victory Day in Moscow had been "received withinterest," but there had not yet been any reply from the White House.(CGTN)
4. Thailand nabs 7 alleged rebelsinvolved in massacre
The Thai Army told the Thai media onSaturday that seven suspected rebels involved in a massacre killing had beenarrested.
"We have netted all together 7suspects. One was quickly arrested following Tuesday's attack," said ColPramote Prom-in, spokesman for the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC).
Col Pramote said he suspected that 30 to40 people were involved in the attack, and it remained unclear which separatistgroup is responsible.
Attacks blamed on suspected insurgentsin the restive south of Yala Province on Tuesday night left 15 community guardsdead. (Xinhua)
5. American Airlines followsSouthwest and pulls 737 MAX until early March
American Airlines said on Friday it isextending cancellations of Boeing 737 MAX flights through March 4, 2020,mirroring an earlier announcement by Southwest Airlines.
Southwest said on Friday it would removeBoeing 737 MAX jets from its schedule until March 6, 2020, just shy of theone-year anniversary of an Ethiopian Airlines crash of the jet that led to aworldwide grounding.
Boeing is facing increasing hurdles inobtaining approval to return the plane to service before the end of this yearas it has targeted. (CGTN)
6. US officials identify ‘strongculprit’ in vaping illnesses
US health officials reported a breakthroughFriday in their investigation into the cause of a mysterious outbreak of vapingillnesses.
The compound — vitamin E acetate — waspreviously found in liquid from electronic cigarettes and other vaping devicesused by many of those who got sick, the Centers for Disease Control andPrevention announced.
Officials said this is the first timethey’ve found a common suspect in the damaged lungs of patients.
But agency officials cautioned theycannot rule out all other toxic substances, and it may take animal studies toclearly show vitamin E acetate causes the lung damage that’s been seen.(Xinhua)
