Shaun Peet played hockey for Dartmouth College and went on to play eight years of professional hockey before he completely changed paths, pivoting to become a jackman in a top-level NASCAR pit crew. It sounds crazy, but his story illustrates how he effortlessly flows from one part of his life to another. Jorge Nava has a story straight out of Joseph Campbell’s hero’s journey. He was on the show “90 Day Fiancé,” where he met a girl from Russia who changed completely when she arrived in the states. He’s a grower of marijuana here in California, where it’s legal, but had trouble getting his crops to grow fast enough to meet the demands of his new fiance’s financial needs. He decided to buy marijuana from another state where it was legal and transport it across the country, passing through one state where it was not legal. As you may have guessed, he got pulled over in that state with over 300 pounds of marijuana. His story is a redemption story: He goes to jail, picks up a Tony Robbins book, and he systematically decides to go through the journey of self-exploration, loses 125 pounds, and finds out who he is at a deep level. We go into that whole story up to where he is today, and it’s absolutely incredible.
