Your life is already made up of a series of routines, whether you consciously chose them or not. Shaking up those habits is how you drastically improve your life. In this episode, we discuss three rituals that we practice every week, each in different areas of our lives, to break us out of ruts: Morning questions, day dates, and five questions at dinner. These are incredibly simple tools but I cannot stress how much they have changed our lives for the better – and they can easily do the same for you.
Seven morning questions:

We’ve documented much of our journey from living in the United States to moving to Italy and our lives here since. It’s been eight months since we first moved and we’re preparing to take our first trip back to the United States. We wanted to continue this documentation by predicting the reverse culture shock we expect to experience there. In this episode, we share three things we expect to be different, from what we’ll miss in Italy to what we’re excited to experience being back in America again. To finish up, we come back around and give our impressions during the trip.

Everybody wants to build a business these days. And when you think about starting a business, what’s the first thing everyone says? “Follow your passion. Do what you love.” As someone who does just that, it’s hard for me to scoff at the advice. It does work for some people.
But what if you don’t actually feel all that passionate about anything, or you don’t see a path to making that thing profitable? That’s where boring businesses come in. Stay with me here.
Building or buying a cheap, profitable, low-maintenance business can be a great way to reach your financial goals so that you can live the life you want without having to turn the thing you love most into a job. Today, we talk about when a boring business might be right for you, how to go about it, and when it’s time to draw a line between efficiency and living your best life.

It feels like I’ve been on the cusp of a plant medicine experience for years, but there’s still this hesitancy holding me back. If you’re like me, where this stuff fascinates you but you aren’t sure what to really make of it, today’s guests are here to help. Azrya and Benjamin “Bee” Bequer co-founded Beqoming after meeting each other and having some radically transformative experiences. One was deeply embedded in the entertainment industry before realizing it wasn’t fulfilling her, while the other discovered that he was trapped in a cycle of perpetual stress despite finding tremendous success. Together, they set out to break the patterns in their life that kept them trapped. We’re going to talk about what that looked like, and how (if you’re ready) you can take that journey yourself.

We all have a number in our heads that, if we made that amount of money, we could finally live the life we really want to live. We could quit our job. We could travel. We could eat out whenever we wanted, whatever it is. The problem is, that number goes up based on the amount of money you make – and it never stops rising. If you keep waiting until you hit “that” number before you start living your life, you’re going to be grinding until the day you die.
Instead, we spend this episode talking about removing yourself from comparison, finding out what your dream life really is, and backtracking from there instead of chasing arbitrary numbers that are only ever going to make you miserable.

For some people, small beginnings can keep them feeling trapped in life. For others, those small lives can inspire dreams of something bigger. For Ajit Nawalkha, who grew up in a small home with 23 people and little money, he knew that his future had to be different. From intern to CEO of Mindvalley Italy, he went on to create his own coach training program, Evercoach. We talk about why coaching appears to be everywhere these days, tips for a more balanced life, and navigating the different ways cultures view personal growth.

So much of fighting is about tradition… This is how we’ve always done it, so this is how it’s going to be. That’s fine when you’re on the training mat – but what happens when someone grabs you at the ATM at two in the morning? Fear kicks in fast, and all that training… Poof! That is, unless you’ve trained with Tony Blauer. He’s developed a self-defense system that uses your natural instincts and fear response and harnesses it to keep you safe. We talk about learning to embrace fear, questioning the way things have always been done, and trusting your instincts and intuition.

Stress can be a big motivator to get yourself moving. But ultimately, the work you do while under stress is not going to be your best output. The truth is, you need to balance being motivated without being stressed so that you can achieve the best outcomes possible for yourself and the people around you. We discuss this tricky balance in today’s episode, and lay out why associating stress with success is such a dangerous proposition.
