Friarbasketball.com and the Friar Podcast have partnered to bring Providence fans a special look back at the 2003-04 season. This four-part podcast series will chronicle the Friars’ rise from middle-of-the-pack Big East team to one that proved it could play with anyone in the country.
The ‘04 Friars are most remembered for being on the cusp of a Big East championship and a potentially deep NCAA Tournament run (they were ranked 12th in the country with a 20-5 record heading into March) before the unthinkable happened -- they lost their final four games of the season.
In episode one of the series, listeners will hear from All-American Ryan Gomes, as well as core members Marcus Douthit, Donnie McGrath, Sheiku Kabba, and assistant coach Bob Walsh as they provide a behind-the-scenes look at how this roster was constructed and when they started to turn the corner as a program.
The Friar Pod Series is hosted by Bill Ricci and Kevin Farrahar.
Produced and Edited by Mike Whalen.
Special Thanks to Ryan Gomes, Marcus Douthit, Donnie McGrath, Sheiku Kabba, and Bob Walsh.
