The world is a mess; politics are a mess; the Church is a mess-what year?   No, not 2018 but 1205--the year that Francis of Assisi first heard the call of Jesus--Go and Rebuild my Church for it is falling into ruin.   Taking our lead from St. Francis' own playbook, how do we rebuild the Church today (preached at Capuchin Cafe --Nov. 10,2018)

This homily was preached during the 40th Anniversary Mass for my dear brother and friend--Br. Bob Herrick, OFM Cap.  The homily reflects on the meaning of both consecrated and baptismal commitment in light of the Sunday Gospel.

The great St. Bernard wrote the following about the saints: "Let us long for those who are longing for us, hasten to those who are waiting for us, and ask those who look for our coming to intercede for us."  Inspired by St. Bernard's thought, I preached this homily at Archbishop Carroll High School (Nov. 1, 2018).
