The way that people choose to communicate with other people can make a huge difference in how they interact in the future. The assumption is the enemy of clear communication. When we assume what someone is thinking instead of asking them, we invite a whole world of problems. When Christians evangelize, this too is a form of communication. We need to communicate clearly and authentically.
