  • Can I Have Your Number?: Gilmores on the Enneagram
By special listener request, we’re back with another bonus episode tackling the Enneagram of Personality for the Big 4. Despite their surface-level knowledge in the subject, Rachelle and Morgan discuss what Enneagram numbers they think best fit Lorelai, Rory, Richard, and Emily, thanks to the detailed information available on the Enneagram Institute’s website, enneagraminstitute.com.

  • The Veggie Tales Episode: Gilmore Girls S2 E1 (Sadie, Sadie)
Hope you like eggplant because there’s an abundance of aubergines in this episode. (Get your mind out of the gutter! It’s just a vegetable, don’t read into it!) The town is covered in far more than 1,000 yellow daisies and everyone is wondering when Lorelai will say yes—but more importantly, when she plans to tell Luke about the proposal. Meanwhile, Rory finishes her junior year in the top 3% of her class at Chilton and Emily promises a special Friday Night Dinner full of her favorite foods and any friends she wishes to invite. Richard is (quite frankly) a Richard to poor Dean, Lorelai says yes after much ado from Max, and Sookie spills the Jordan almonds about Lorelai’s engagement to Emily. Welcome back to Stars Hollow and into season 2 listeners!

  • We’re Almost There & Nowhere Near It: Reflecting on Season 1 of Gilmore Girls & the Podcast
“We’re almost there and nowhere near it—all that matters is we’re going.” ~ Lorelai Gilmore. Morgan & Rachelle are reflecting back on season 1 of Gilmore Girls and the podcast—mainly in shock and awe that we made it this far—and that anyone is still listening (or even bothered to listen) to this podcast. Plus, we play a few games of Gilmore Girls-themed “Kiss, Marry, Kill” (season 1 edition), “Would you rather?” and “Whose line is it anyway?” in anticipation of season 2. See you in Stars Hollow for season 2!

  • Come On In, Hit Me With a Baseball Bat!: Gilmore Girls S1 E21 (Love, Daisies and Troubadours)
We’ve made it and no one is more shocked than Morgan! This is it, the final episode of season 1 and we’re all suffering from a bit of ennui about it — Nugs especially. Rory makes her move and impersonates a Girl Scout (sans cookies) in an attempt to do reconnaissance on Dean; tired of Luke spending all of his free time at Lorelai’s, Rachel packs a bag and leaves Luke with some parting words of wisdom; Max proposes mid-fight and after Lorelai talks some sense into him proceeds to fill the Inn’s lobby with yellow daisies in an attempt to win her heart and hand in marriage; and Dean shows up at Chilton because once again he’s the bigger man (literally and figuratively). Get ready for the shocking finale of season 1, and we’ll see you in Stars Hollow.

  • I’d Be a Chat Club Loyalty Cardholder: Gilmore Girls S1 E20 (P.S. I Lo...)
P.S. We’re ba... with another episode of Friday Night Dinner! This week, we’re discussing Rory’s frustration with Lane and the rest of Stars Hollow for treating her like a child after her breakup with Dean, Lorelai’s hesitation to tell anyone about her recently rekindled relationship with Max, and Emily’s smug satisfaction when Rory shows up on their doorstep for an unannounced sleepover. Plus, Lorelai verbally assaults Dean in Doose’s Market and Rachelle has some strong words for her, and Lorelai surprises Luke with a wardrobe makeover after his disastrous shopping spree at the Chat Club in the search for Rachel’s birthday present. Join us for this jam-packed episode of Friday Night Dinner, and we’ll see you in Stars Hollow.

  • For Rune & Board: Gilmore Girls S1 E19 (Emily in Wonderland)
Sound the alarm: Emily has landed in Stars Hollow. We repeat, Emily has landed in Stars Hollow. Mrs. Kim has met her match, and Michel his new BFF. Emily and Rory hit the town on two feet for a bit of antiquing. Meanwhile, Rune is back in town (or rather, never left town) and needs lodging and a job. Rory shows off the potting shed, only to find Emily designing her a “proper” room complete with N’Sync and Backside Boys posters. Rachel asks Lorelai to ask Luke to believe her when she says she’s staying in Stars Hollow for the long haul this time, and ends up with a sock drawer and her own set of keys, which leaves Lorelai wondering if she made the right call, or if she’s responsible when Rachel turns out to be a femme bot and destroys the town, or more likely, Luke’s heart. And we consult some experts for insider info on trust funds and festivals. See you in Stars Hollow!

  • You’ve Been Gilmored: Rebecca Oh, Registered Dietitian
We sat down with Rachelle’s childhood friend and registered dietitian, Rebecca Oh, to talk all things Gilmore Girls, including her current rewatch of the show as an adult and the super important role of food in this iconic show. Trigger warning: There is discussion of eating disorders in this episode which may be triggering to some, in which case we encourage you to please consider skipping this episode.

  • "The Fish Flies at Night": Gilmore Girls S1 E18 (The Third Lorelai)
Trix is in town, and she sure is a tricky one alright. No, not Bellatrix Lestrange--Trix (also known as Gran), though you may know her as the O.G. Lorelai Gilmore. Emily is in panic mode preparing for Richard's mother's unplanned visit from London and Rory will finally get to meet her elusive and enigmatic (dare we say egregiously awful?) great-grandmother. Paris and Tristan go on a date orchestrated by a well-intentioned Rory. Gran offers to fund Rory's tuition for Chilton, much to Emily's dismay. But when a scene at high tea has Gran tut-tutting her way back to London, Emily's true intentions for sabotaging Rory's trust fund are revealed, and Lorelai is now one black mini-skirt and half a million dollars short. Oh, and brace yourself: There's a year's worth of singing in this episode and we're sorry but also not sorry? (Update: We recognize the error made in Pop Culture Corner re: cabin in the woods reference and have corrected this error in the next episode.)

  • Sorting Stars Hollow: Yer a Wizard, Gilmore
Welcome to another Harry Potter-themed mini-sode! In this episode, Morgan and Rachelle combine their decade (plus)-long obsession with Harry Potter with their love of Gilmore Girls to sort the residents of Stars Hollow into their respective Hogwarts houses. In this sorting episode, we're finally sorting the big 4! That's right, we're sorting the Gilmore family. We also discuss what animal each would bring with them to Hogwarts, their best or favorite Hogwarts class, favorite or most used spell, and what their occupation would be in the wizarding world. Let the magic begin, muggles!

  • An Orchestra of Dolls: A Memoir: Gilmore Girls S1 E17 (The Breakup: Part 2)
We're back with the juicy details behind Dean and Rory's untimely breakup -- well, OK, not really. But we're back and ready to talk about the breakup, unlike Rory, who dives head-first into distracting herself, much to Lorelai's dismay, and despite her protests that Rory wallow. The entire town of Stars Hollow knows about the breakup and is upended by the news. Luke goes fist-to-cuffs with an unsuspecting Dean in the street. Rory and Lane head to Madeline's house for a party, leaving Lorelai free to show up on Max's doorstep to quell her loneliness. And Rory ends the night lip to lip with Tristan, Ben, and Jerry? Strap in for more drama in Stars Hollow, folks.
