This week we are talking about Friday Night Lights. This is a movie about high school football in west Texas in the late 80's.

For the Odessa Permian Panthers anything short of the Texas Sate championship is unacceptable. Everyone from the star player to the role players must be "perfect" if they are going to overcome the adversity of high school football in Texas at the highest level.

Friday Night Lights gives audiences a glimpse of the pressures and expectations placed on young men playing the sport that represents everything to many of the people in small towns like Odessa, Texas.

The movie hits hard on and off the field with spectacular performances and excellent writing and cinematography. It also introduced the world to a small experimental band from Texas in the soundtrack. Enjoy!
