July 10, 2015Shun Riyaa & Arrogance as Ramadhaan EndsMoosaa Richardson's khutbah (1436/09/23) at al-Masjid al-Awwal in Pittsburgh. Solutions are offered for two major flaws in people's practice of Islaam as Ramadhaan comes to a close. Disturbing questions are posed: Could I be overtaken by arrogance, and this manifests when I do not give my Zakaat al-Fitr to the poor myself? Why do I insist on having someone else distribute my Zakaat al-Fitr to the poor on my behalf, instead of getting to know some poor people myself? Is "not knowing any poor people" a good excuse, or is that a huge problem with my practice that needs fixed immediately?! Could I have the disease that prevents people from entering Paradise?! Very troubling questions indeed... Read this article for an excellent follow-up discussion: http://www.bakkah.net/en/15-reasons-to-give-your-own-zakaat-al-fitr-yourself-part-1.htm...more27minPlay
