Ms. Lowinger is a Cuban-born American writer and art conservator. The author of Tropicana Nights: The Life and Times of the Legendary Cuban Nightclub (Harcourt, 2005) and Promising Paradise: Cuban Allure American Seduction (Wolfsonian Museum, 2016). She is the founder and current vice-president of RLA Conservation, LLC, one of the U.S.’s largest woman-owned art and architectural conservation firms. A Fellow of the American Institute for Conservation, the Association for Preservation Technology, and the American Academy in Rome, Rosa writes regularly for popular and academic media about conservation, historic preservation, the visual arts, and Cuba.

Jim Fried talks with Miami icon Elvis Cruz about why he continues to “fight city hall.”  The discuss preserving the green spaces of Miami’s parks, climate change, upzoning and much more.

Jim also chats with thought leaders from the Annual Real Deal Miami event and gathers some great insights.

Jim’s expertise and real estate background will serve District 2 as an increase in new development and redevelopment spring up.  Much of this activity is north of downtown around the Edgewater neighborhood, where Fried lives with wife Vivian.  Vivian Fried, who had total kidney failure, went through dialysis every day for four years while Jim searched for a kidney. She got her transplant Jan. 2, 2018 and has been on a slow journey of recovery ever since.  Their story of overcoming the odds and Jim’s dedication are truly inspiring.

Jim stands firm on what he believes is best for District 2.  His experience with land development and commercial real estate are what Miami needs as plans for the development of the current site of the Melreese golf course are in discussion.  There have been reports that the public golf course had high levels of contaminants including arsenic under its soil. The deal by Jorge Mas and David Beckham to bring a $1 billion soccer stadium development is controversial. In Jim’s opinion there needs to be more investigation and further study of the lease.

Jim is counting on small donations and a grassroots campaign for funding. Though niece, Nikki Fried, who was elected last November as Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services, will be lending her support.

From the National Association of Realtor’s own Real Estate Technology Accelerator Executive Director, Bob Gillespie, joins in to discuss all the capital being invested in the commercial real estate tech space.  Gillespie also discusses what the National Association of Realtors are looking for in relation to tech.  Also joining them for Fried on Tech is respected Wall Street investment Banker Bradford Harries.  Bradford has 4+ decades of experience in the investment sector and is long time CRETech insider.

Andreas has over 10 years experience in all aspects of the professional real estate industry.  Senie has served in leading roles in CRE tech solutions, including, MLS marketing platform, Agile CRM, Tenant Rep, and listing service, TenSource, Capital raising platform, RealConnex, and comprehensive integrated SaaS platform, 500apps. Mr. Senie also has over a decade of experience in brick & mortar real estate development and brokerage. Most notably the Senie’s are completing a $70 Million dollar mixed use project in Berlin, Massachusetts. Andreas also founded the first hybrid commercial real estate brokerage firm working within residential brokerage; EAC Properties at The Higgins Group.  The group services the tristate with over 400 agents, 15 offices combined, providing landlord representation, tenant representation, and buyer representation.

Andreas holds a Masters Certification in Real Estate Development from Cornell University, studied Business Management at Fairfield University, & Property Management at Drexel University. He continues studies in real estate technology and practices.

Bob is a serial entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in technology, leadership and operations. He believes that the ability to build great teams is the most important factor for success. Companies Bob has founded have gone on to raise over $60M in venture funding with an enterprise value of over $150M. In an advisory role, he has worked extensively with over 200 companies in an accelerator program. His mentorship and network connections lead to new customers, partnerships and venture funding for the participating companies.

Bob has his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in Entrepreneurship and Finance.

City Commissioner District 2

Jim Fried shares why he is running for District 2 City Commissioner in Miami.  As a lifelong Miami resident and real estate broker, Jim wants better for his city.  He decided to officially enter the race earlier this month, against incumbent city commissioner Ken Russell for District 2.  District 2 spans from Coconut Grove to Morningside and includes Brickell, downtown Miami and Edgewater.

Jim’s message is simple: Miami needs better customer service.
