Hope is in Jesus Christ and in heaven.

If we are not careful we will become so distracted with His coming that we will be disobey His command to preach the gospel.

Jesus’ coming should be something we look forward to and should be a reminder to us of what we should be doing right now. We should see to the command Jesus has for us.

Focus on what God wants us to do. Let Him shake you and put you back on the right course.

We sometimes need an interruption in our life to get back to where we should be in our walk with Christ.

On Ascension day, the disciples got a little push from the angels to remind them to return to Jerusalem and pray for the power of the Holy Spirit.

Pray for God’s power and the power of the Holy Spirit.

During the 40 day period after the resurrection of Jesus, he gave them proof, peace, purpose and power.

Jesus’ purpose was to continue to share the kingdom with others.

The disciples continued the purpose of Jesus.

Jesus was telling the disciples in verse 7-8 that it was not for them to “know the times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority”, but their purpose was to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Jesus took the time to open the disciples’ minds to explain the gospel to them as they would be the witnesses to the world.

Find your purpose in Jesus and not from the world.

Choose to focus on the good news of Jesus Christ rather than on the bad news of this world.

Give your heart completely to the purpose of Jesus and his glory.
