Why does God seem distant? Doesn't He want to be known and believed in? If so, why doesn't He make His existence more obvious? This is an excellent question, and one I wrestled with for a long time to be honest. However, there are three points which help make sense of why we feel God is distant. Two points explain the importance of this "distance." The third point explains how God has made Himself sufficiently and amazingly known through creation, conscience, and climaxing in the incarnation of Christ!
The problem of suffering is one of the hardest questions to answer as related to faith, not because it is theologically or even intellectually difficult, but because it is personally and emotionally difficult. Life is hard and people suffer. This is not a Christian problem, but a human problem. As such, all worldviews have to make sense of it. Nevertheless, I think that the Christian view makes the most sense of suffering and is the only worldview that really offers a solution and hope to suffering. We serve a Lord who cares about our suffering, relates to us in our suffering, and suffered and died for us, rising again and offering new life and transformation, that we need not suffer anymore.
What is apologetics and how is the Christian supposed to use this tool for the Kingdom? In this episode, we'll respond to two common objections and misconceptions about apologetics, as well as cast vision for being faithful ambassadors of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is true and defensible, beatiful and compelling.
