The staff of Friends Church Orange sat down for a discussion around the theme "Dare to Hope," as expressed through Lamentations 3:21-24. As they share their stories, dreams, disappointments and hopes for the new year, you are invited to reflect on your own year and the hopes that God is still putting in you for the year to come.

Hart Park is a central hub for families, the community, and our homeless population. This location represents the partners we work with in the city. We work with Mary’s Kitchen and HomeAid as organizations that provide food and service for homeless individuals and families in Orange County.

Casa Teresa provides pregnant women in crisis a loving home to begin their healing journey.

Location: 172 W Maple Ave, Orange, CA 92866. Park in the lot on Maple and Olive, behind SonLight church off the circle.

ORANGEWOOD

401 The City Dr S, Orange, CA 92868. Park at Orangewood, or head over to Krispy Kreme to grab a donut while you listen and pray!

Orangewood Children and Family Center is a 24-hour emergency shelter care facility, operated and owned by the County of Orange Social Services Agency for children who have been abused, abandoned, and/or neglected.

Response: Donate school supplies for the Fall. Bring by the church on Thursdays or Sundays 10am-12pm, or drop right off at Orangewood Fridays between 11 and 1.

Youth Centers of Orange (YCO) provides at-risk youth with free to low-cost after-school enrichment activities for the city of Orange.

Location: 146 N. Grand St., Orange, CA 92866. Park in the parking lot across from the YCO, or on Grand.

Response: Donate school supplies for the Fall. Donations can be brought by the church on Thursdays or Sundays 10am – 12pm. You can also volunteer with the YCO camp! If interested, contact Tammy ([email protected]).

As you head home today, think about where you live. What makes it special? Is it the things in it? The people? The location? The neighborhood? We believe that we are all placed exactly where we live for a reason. Who does God want to bring to your mind today? 

Response: Go for a 30 minute prayer walk this week with your family or neighbors. Pray that God highlights people to pray for or to serve.
