1. feminine 女性化的 

Chandler配了眼镜，众人说他看起来feminine.

feminine 女性的，很女性化的，这里翻译成了娘娘腔。其实还有一个更带贬义的词sissy.

feminine的反义词是masculine 男性的，阳刚的

Chandler: Hey, you guys!

Ross and Rachel: Hey!

Chandler: So, what do you think?

Ross: About what?

Rachel: Yeah, what?

Joey: What?

3. left-handed 左撇子

Chandler要给未来的岳父打球，为了让球他说用左手打球，Ross问Aren't you a lefty?

Left-handed是左撇子，口语里也可以直接说lefty.

 I am a lefty 我是左撇子。

Monica: Oh, just so you know, you-you have to let him win.

Ross: Yeah.

Monica: He hates to lose.

Chandler: Oh no problem, maybe I’ll play with my left hand.

Ross: You’re not a lefty?

4. give sb a shout out 对某人公开致意，表示感谢

Rachel在教Joey开游艇，Joey的注意力被另外一条船的美女们给吸引了，Rachel问You wanna go over and give a little shout out to the old, hot chickas?

give sb a shout out 向某人公开致意，向某人表示感谢

另外在口语中一个常用的短语 Give sb a shout 指非正式，随意的与某人交流，比如通过电话，短信通知某事。其实翻译成告诉谁一声，跟某人打个招呼比较合适。If you need my help, just give me a shout. 需要我帮忙打声招呼就行。

Rachel: Okay, I’m just gonna go over the basic points just one more time, are you ready?

Joey: Come on Rach, not again. I got it! Okay? Let’s start sailing, and I want to go over there (Points) where that boatload of girls is! (Yelling to them) Yo-ho-ho!

5. take a steam 洗桑拿

Chandler向Ross讲述他和Ross的父亲发生的尴尬事情，当时他们正在take a steam.

这里take a steam省略了一个词bath. 

take a steam bath就是洗蒸汽浴，桑拿浴

take a steam本身的意思是吸入蒸汽，熏蒸。

Ross: (entering with Chandler) Hey.

Monica: Hey! How was it?

Ross: Well I had a great time! Umm, Chancy on the other hand…

Chandler: I will tell the story! It was going great. I let him win. We were bonding. He even said I could call him dad.

Ross: And what did he ask you not to call him?

Chandler: Daddy. All right look, here’s the story.  Well, we had just finished playing racquetball and we were gonna take a steam. I walk into the steam room and it was really steamy. So I take off my glasses and that’s when it happened.

6. pinhead  笨蛋，猪头

Rachel因为教授Joey开游艇过于严厉来向Joey道歉，Joey提到Rachel骂他pinhead

pinhead. 本意是针头，微小的东西。这里直接翻译成笨蛋，猪头就好了。

Rachel: Look Joey, I’m sorry if-if you thought that was mean, but I gotta tell ya something. That was not mean. Okay, my father is mean. He used to yell at me all the time on the boat, I mean it was horrible. I was just being a good teacher.

Joey: Does a good teacher say, "Put down the beer pinhead!?"

Rachel: Well, does a good student drink seven beers during his first lesson? 

Joey: Six and a half! You knocked that last one out of my hand! Remember?
