Vanitaw - charting a course through life's little bends without use of a satnav with a bossy voice.      

Imagine a woman in a place she's never been before. Imagine there's precious little advice on how to navigate out of the place, despite being in a First World country. That woman is Luna C. and it would probably be better if she didn't talk to Nick. Damnit. She talked to Nick.     

Luna C. is a woman of a certain age who is navigating the brain-bending world of menopause, child rearing, benzodiazepine dependence, mental health challenges, lockdowns and all the other insults the modern world can throw. Once upon a time she had a six figure job and could drive a car. Today Luna can't even balance on one leg.      

Nick Pringle is a middle-aged white-guy, the world's favourite kind of person right now. He is a veteran broadcaster with a wide and varied career from political chat shows, to music documentaries. He now spends his time pottering about the badlands and thinking about things. Nick enjoys naps.      

Luna chose Nick for Vanitaw - a show about serious health issues - because she knows Nick can bring the light of humour into darkness, and that laughter is one of the best medicines.
