  • Whatcha Been Blanking

Welcome back everyone, it's that time of the week again. New episode!

WHATCHA BEEN WATCHING: kicks off the show and has us going back and forth with this weeks viewing. It's quite the discussion as we got to watch our fair share of tv shows and movies.

Justin watched a lot, and feel asleep a lot. Hayden's powers of sleep must have caught on. Notorious B.I.G was one that made a big impact. Croods 2 was a huge success with the family. Moxie made the cut as well. WandaVision left him feeling on the fence.
Hayden worked  his way through Leon the Professional. La Dream Team. Yes Day. Half of Lilo and Stich, why only half? Now that's a funny story, can you guess how it ends.

TOP FIVE ACTION FILMS: We get into 5 action films each, that place highly on our repeat viewing habits. Hayden goes a little different and choses 5 that made an impact for specific reasons.

It's a fun discussion to see what we like and whether it crosses over with each others.

Keep an ear out for how you can enter our mini sweepstakes for you the listener! Details in the episode on how you can get involved, use the hashtags, and maybe take away some cool merch!

  • Close...But No Cigar

Welcome back everyone, to the next episode.

We had such a fun time discussing the same thing last week that we did it again!

Justin gives us the lowdown on his beginnings of 'Empire' and what about it is exciting him. Hayden manages to convince Justin to give 'Call my Agent' a view as well (Two weeks on the same show for him), plus a few more varied shows for everyone.

TRADE TALK: What next for Schitt's Creek star Annie Murphy, the HBOMAX blunder, Kim's Convenience coming to an early end,  Raya and the last Dragon, and a few other fun things.

THIS WEEK WITH (some old fellas came up with this name):  We watched the same film again during the week and discuss it once again.  'Close' was this weeks film of debate.  In short, Vicky Jewson writing, producing and directing this impactful action film starring Noomi Rapace.

Rachael gives us a run down on what it's like to be the cause of a viral tweet, and what it's like gaining the attention of a lot of Hollywood A-listers who stopped by to have their say!

It's a great episode to get involved with, don't be shy, please reach out to us on all major social media or email us to join the conversation!

  • We Care A Lot
Welcome back to the next episode. We made it to the milestone and  this is the next step!

What have we been watching? This marks the first time the same film was watched by us both, so what do we do with this anomaly?  We give it it's own segment on the show!

Justin gives us the lowdown on 'Dog Intervention', yes it is as interesting as it sounds; as well as giving us the conclusion of his viewing of 'A Perfect Planet' and the continuous cycle of the Fig Wasp. You wont want to miss this!
Hayden also goes on a long digress about the French television show 'Call My Agent' and how the ethics of grey zone dating (actors with agents/producers/directors) work.

TRADE TALK: Golden Globes having recently happened we give congratulations to Chloe Zhao on her success with 'Nomadland' and Rosamund Pike with 'I Care A Lot', before moving on to some insider talk regarding the Vancouver based Superman and Lois show. It took how long to shoot the first episode! It's already greenlit for a season 2 after just two episodes?

A LITTLE FILM BREAKDOWN: This week we tried something a little new. We watched the same film during the week and decided to discuss it together.  'I Care a Lot' was this weeks first film of debate.  In short, Rosamund Pike is wonderful, though why is it classified as a comedy?

Rachael gives us a quick run down on what she watched this past week. On the heels of the February wrap up, she's knocking out those multiple films still. You can skip ahead to this part, we won't mind, we know how good it is.

It's a great episode to get involved with, don't be shy, please reach out to us on all major social media or email us to join the conversation!
And take note on how you can enter our mini sweepstakes for you the listener! Details in the episode on how you can get involved, use the hashtags, and maybe take away some cool merch!

Welcome back to the show everyone!  This episode brings us to a big milestone, episode 25! Holy smokes, we've made it and it feels like we've only just begun.

Why not make it a thing, #Mad4March #MadForMarch, mini sweepstakes for you the listener! Details in the episode on how you can get involved and take away some cool merch!

What have we been watching? Nature and Science documentaries have Justin jumping with excitement while Hayden digs back in to some Shameless and French television. We have more, but you'll have to listen to hear about those.

TRADE TALK: has us going in to some of the exciting Paramount Plus casting and show news (coming along nicely Paramount, game on). Throw in a little bit of Spider-Man, Star Wars and DCEU pieces and you have a good little section.

SPEED QUOTES: It's back again after being sidelined for the previous few weeks. Can Justin tie scores with Hayden. How strong is your film knowledge audience? Play along and see if you can best us!

Rachael gives us a huge run down on her Films For February, she's watched 92 films this year already, so February is jammed with some doozies for everyone to hear about.  Definitely stick around for this one if you're looking for something new to watch!

  • Spicy Maple Whiskey Vanilla Ice Cream

Welcome back to the show everyone!  This episode brings us to the end of Black History Month, so we thought we'd focus a little more on some People of Color creative artists (in front of and behind the camera) who are making impacts in the world of cinema and television right now.

What have we been watching? This week we found ourselves in full discussion on the power of 'BlackkKlansman' a Spike Lee joint, and how it affected us and the message it sends for today's society.

Trade Talk has us going in to some of the new exciting casting news (Bridgerton season 2 anyone?), show announcements (new Fraser and a Craig Robinson lead comedy), through to updates on Ray Fisher's stand against on set misbehavior and misconduct by people in positions of power.

The people spoke and we answered. We have more of the Shaopin Tsui episode for everyone. He gave us a great listener question, and we wanted everyone to hear it. It's a great discussion with points of view from two very different cultural environments.

Rachael takes her time to discuss a magnitude of films by Black directors, writers, actors and female filmmakers. What favourites strike a chord with her and ones that offer a powerful message for all viewers. Definitely one to stick around for!

  • Canceled

Welcome back everyone!  This week in leu of recent events in the entertainment industry, we decided the timing was right to have a great discussion on what people call 'Cancel Culture'.

It's a weighty topic where we try and find the balance, find the line, is there a line? And whether or not there are double standards? What are those standards and do they apply to everyone or few?

While this is the main topic for this week, we do have some of the old favourites for you. We chitty chat about what we've been watching, and it's a wide range: the Superbowl, to Superstore, Wandavision, Schitt's Creek, to Netflix's shows Firefly Lane, Messiah and Call My Agent.

Trade Talk: This week it's a small one. Justin has a new Disney + show announcement, which is super exciting!

Rachael's Reviews: has her taking the time to add to the discussion of cancel culture, offering up a third point of view. While also giving her run down on her weekly viewings as well.

It's another great episode to get involved with and to have your voice heard, so please reach out to us on all major social media or email us to join the conversation!

  • Welcome to the Shao

Welcome back to the show everyone!  This week we have a super special guest co-host joining us!

Canadian actor Shaopin Tsui (Shao), now based out of Hong Kong, joins us for the entire episode. We attempt to run the show you've come to know and love, but things can change on the fly and things certainly did.

The Prince of Deserts himself joins us for one very informative discussion about the film and entertainment industries in North America and Hong Kong. Its such an interesting contrast, you'll want to listen.

What have we been watching? Cook books. The Big White Duel. Marvel. Conan O'Brien. Auditions. Cross Pacific differences. It's all there and then some!

Rachael will round out our discussions with a short segment on the second half of the Fast n Furious franchise. If you have reservations about watching any of these films, maybe this segment will make you rethink watching them.

It's another great episode to get involved with, so please reach out to us on all major social media or email us to join the conversation!
