From Matt. 28:16-21 we see that a disciple makes other disciples by pointing them to Jesus.

From Matt. 10:40-42 we find that a disciple serves others so that he might honor Christ.

From Matt. 26:36-46 we find that a disciple is vigilant by waiting on the return of Christ and watching for the attacks of Satan.
