A powerful conversation on hormones, healthspan, lifestyle medicine, and helping women thrive—not decline—through menopause and beyond.
----In this episode of MyMD Unscripted, Dr. Pat McShane shares what she’s learned from nearly five decades in women’s health—from the early days of IVF to her current focus on healthspan. We talk about the confusion around hormones, the power of exercise, the growing loneliness epidemic, and why women deserve better information about thriving after menopause. Her insights reframe aging as a decades-long opportunity, not a decline.
----
Dr. Pat McShane is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and reproductive endocrinologist who trained at Tufts University, Boston Hospital for Women, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. After decades leading and teaching in IVF and fertility medicine—including faculty roles at Harvard, UMass, and the University of Colorado—she shifted her focus to supporting women in their postmenopausal years, inspired by her own life experience. A member of ASRM and ACOG, she also earned a Certificate in Global Public Health and has published extensively on IVF, genetic testing, and fertility preservation.
She continues to support women through her podcast Women’s Healthspan Voices with Dr. Pat McShane.
