Author Michelle Baker’s new book, The Canoe, is a soulful, poetic story set in 1912 between a woman and a boy who never meet, and their parallel lives at a time of collective grief. Side by side, the woman and boy weave a discourse between youth and middle age, between love and death, and between dual rites of passage: coming of age and coming to terms with loss.
Baker says she would like to "contemplate parallel stories, how when one event happens, there are always a million other things happening as well.” And so, that will be our course on today’s journey, From Grief to Grace.
