Dr. John A Dawkins, III is a former high school chemistry teacher who became a McDonald’s franchise owner in his early 30’s. He, along with his daughter Danielle own and operate 6 franchise locations in the Philadelphia region and look to expand their burger empire. In this interview he talks about his childhood, why he left teaching, jumping into real estate, not accepting rejection when trying to acquire his first McDonald’s, and how he managed to become one of the largest African-American employers in the Philadelphia area with hundreds of employees under his leadership.
