Fi: Saariselän hiljaisuus oli rikkumaton.
En: The silence of Saariselkä was unbroken.

Fi: Lumi leijaili maahan hellävaraisesti, kuin pehmeä peitto.
En: Snow drifted gently to the ground like a soft blanket.

Fi: Korkeat männynlatvat kurkottelivat kohti taivasta, ja siellä täällä näki pienten mökkien lämpimän valon pilkottavan.
En: The tall pine treetops reached toward the sky, and here and there one could see the warm glow of small cabins peeking through.

Fi: Tässä rauhallisessa maisemassa, uuden vuoden juhlat juuri ohittaneina, Mikko ja Aino pakkasivat laukkunsa mökkilomalle.
En: In this peaceful landscape, just after the New Year's celebrations, Mikko and Aino packed their bags for a cabin holiday.

En: Hesitant, but reluctantly, Aino agreed.

Fi: Mielessään hän harkitsi jäävänsä mökkiin, missä oli Wi-Fi ja mukavampi sohva.
En: In her mind, she considered staying in the cabin, where there was Wi-Fi and a more comfortable sofa.

Fi: Lopulta, he pukivat paksut toppavaatteet ylleen ja lähtivät ulos.
En: Eventually, they dressed in thick winter clothes and headed outside.
