Sl: Borut je s kapo globoko potisnjeno na glavo stopil skozi velika vrata Ljubljanske mestne knjižnice.
En: Borut stood with his cap pulled low over his head as he walked through the large doors of the Ljubljana City Library.

Sl: Sneg je zasipal ulice mesta.
En: Snow covered the city streets.

Sl: Zunaj je bil mrzel zimski dan.
En: It was a cold winter day outside.

Sl: Knjižnica je bila toplo zavetje.
En: The library was a warm refuge.

Sl: V notranjosti so bile police visoke do stropa, lesene mize pa so vabile s svojo toplino.
En: Inside, the shelves reached up to the ceiling, and the wooden tables invited with their warmth.

Sl: Svetloba je skozi velika okna padala nežno in mehko na vse obiskovalce.
En: Light streamed gently and softly through the large windows onto all the visitors.

Sl: Borut je oboževal knjižnice.
En: Borut loved libraries.

Sl: Bile so njegov kraj mira.
En: They were his place of peace.

Sl: "Oprosti," se je zmedeno nasmehnil.
En: "Sorry," he smiled sheepishly.

Sl: "Ni problema," se je zasmejala Nika.
En: "No problem," Nika laughed.

Sl: "Vidim, da uživamo v enakih knjigah.
En: "I see we enjoy the same books."

Sl: "Oba sta držala knjigo o Prešernovih pesmih.
En: Both were holding a book about Prešeren's poems.

Sl: Tako pogovor stekel.
En: So, the conversation began.

Sl: Nika je bila učiteljica v srednji šoli.
En: Nika was a high school teacher.

Sl: Rada je hodila v knjižnico iskat nove zgodbe za svoje učence.
En: She loved coming to the library to find new stories for her students.

Sl: Borut je bil študent literature.
En: Borut was a literature student.

Sl: Dolgo sta klepetala o poeziji, svojih najljubših pesnikih in o tem, kaj pomeni Prešernov dan za slovensko kulturo.
En: They chatted for a long time about poetry, their favorite poets, and what Prešeren's Day means for Slovenian culture.

Sl: Borut je bil očaran nad besedami, ki jih je delila Nika.
En: Borut was captivated by Nika's words.

Sl: A njegova sramežljivost ga je ustavila, ko je hotel predlagati, da se kdaj spet srečata.
En: But his shyness stopped him when he wanted to suggest they meet again sometime.

Sl: Nika je opazila njegovo obotavljanje.
En: Nika noticed his hesitation.

Sl: Tudi ona je bila previdna zaradi preteklih razočaranj.

Sl: Čez teden dni, na dogodku ob Prešernovem dnevu v knjižnici, je ponovno videl Niko.
En: A week later, at the Prešeren's Day event in the library, he saw Nika again.

Sl: Njegovo srce je hitro bilo.
En: His heart beat quickly.

Sl: Približal se ji je in ji v roke dal pismo.
En: He approached her and handed her the letter.

Sl: "To je zate," je rekel tiho, z zardelimi lici.
En: "This is for you," he said quietly, his cheeks flushed.

Sl: Nika je bila presenečena.
En: Nika was surprised.

Sl: Počasi je odprla pismo in začela brati.
En: She slowly opened the letter and began to read.

Sl: Njegove iskrene in preproste besede so jo ganile.
En: His sincere and simple words moved her.

Sl: Nasmehnila se mu je lepo in iskreno.
En: She smiled at him, beautifully and genuinely.

Sl: "Bi šel kavo po tem?
En: "Would you like to go for coffee after this?"

Sl: " ga je vprašala.
En: she asked.

Sl: Borut je končno začutil, da se je njuno srečanje iz knjižnice prelevilo v nekaj več.
En: Borut finally felt that their meeting in the library had turned into something more.

Sl: Njegov strah pred zavrnitvijo je izginil.
En: His fear of rejection disappeared.

Sl: "Seveda, z veseljem," je odgovoril.
En: "Of course, I'd love to," he replied.

Sl: In tako se je začelo.
En: And so it began.

Sl: Pot skozi knjižnico, ki ju je zbližala, je postala del poti, ki jo bosta nadaljevala skupaj.
