Timothy is a single Dad who decided to become a parent by adopting a son, who at the time was 8 years old and had been in 5 different foster care homes. Timothy will share his story of why he chose to adopt over fostering, and to adopt as a single parent. Dr. Lars Rascoe is the founder of Boys II Men, Inc. which is an Indianapolis-based, non-profit organization that seeks to cultivate the development of adolescent boys in a safe and exciting team environment by promoting civic engagement, personal responsibility, positive relationships, respect for women, and a lifelong appreciation for learning. Dr. Lars will share insights about why he does this work with boys and young men and highlight some of the key challenges that we should all be aware of as we parent, mentor, and serve as the village where young men (and young women) who are growing up in today’s society.
