How does behavior change begin? Do we reach a pain point when everything we've done has stopped working or driven us into a corner? Whether recovering from addiction, trauma, or both- how do we move into a place of willingness to get somewhere different? In this episode, we discuss some of the drivers we've found that jumpstart initial change such as other people and outside sources pointing out our damaging behaviors and realizing that these behaviors are no longer working for us. If we find ourselves in enough pain from the endless cycle, can we trust someone or something else just enough to try something new? Ironically, we've found that letting pain motivate positive change, seeking out and trusting positive people, and practicing new behaviors actually help us to satisfy the core needs we were trying to satisfy all along- feeling valid, loved, and enough.
