Cs: V parku v Savannah, Georgia, se začalo stmívat.
En: In the park in Savannah, Georgia, it began to get dark.

Cs: Vánoční světla jemně svítila nad hlavami lidí a tančila na větvích velkých dubů, které byly pokryté španělským mechem.
En: Christmas lights softly glowed above people's heads and danced on the branches of large oaks draped in Spanish moss.

Cs: Byl zima, ale nálada byla teplá a přátelská.
En: It was cold, but the mood was warm and friendly.

Cs: Karel, plachý výměnný student z České republiky, stál stranou.

Cs: Miloval hudbu.

Cs: Ale představa, že by musel vystoupit před publikem, ho děsila.
