Story Transcript:

Sl: Snežinke so počasi padale z neba in prekrivale pokrajino ob Bledu z belino.
En: The snowflakes slowly fell from the sky, covering the landscape around Bled with whiteness.

En: The lake was calm, and the houses around it emitted a pleasant light.

En: Tomaž, a student of poetry, stood on the shore with his friends Nina and Anže.

En: They were all there for a short escape from everyday life and to honor the approaching Prešernov dan.

Sl: "Kako lepo," je rekel Tomaž, medtem ko je opazoval otoček s cerkvico sredi jezera.
En: "How beautiful," said Tomaž, while observing the small island with the church in the middle of the lake.

Sl: "To je pravo mesto za navdih.
En: "This is the right place for inspiration."

En: "Do you think you'll find your muse for a poem here?"

En: "I hope so," replied Tomaž, glancing at Nina, who was happily taking pictures of the snow-covered castle on the hill.

Sl: Toda medtem ko so hodili, je Tomaž začel čutiti srbenje v grlu.
En: But as they walked, Tomaž began to feel a scratchiness in his throat.

Sl: Najprej je mislil, da je to le hladen zrak, toda njegove oči so kmalu zacecele.
En: At first, he thought it was just the cold air, but his eyes soon began to itch.

Sl: Poskušal je prezreti znamenja.
En: He tried to ignore the signs.

Sl: Ni želel pokvariti izleta.
En: He didn't want to ruin the trip.

Sl: "Vse je v redu?
En: "Is everything okay?"

En: asked Nina when she noticed him rubbing his eyes.

En: "Yeah, everything's great," he replied, but he felt it becoming difficult to breathe.

Sl: Ko so prišli do cerkve, se je stanje poslabšalo.
En: By the time they reached the church, his condition worsened.

Sl: Tomaž je komaj zajel sapo.
En: Tomaž could barely catch his breath.

Sl: Strah je prežel njihove misli.
En: Fear filled their minds.

Sl: "Potrebujemo pomoč," je vzkliknil Anže, panika v očeh.
En: "We need help," cried Anže, panic in his eyes.

Sl: Nina je hitro stekla do bližnje gostišče, kjer je srečala prijaznega domačina.
En: Nina quickly ran to a nearby inn, where she encountered a friendly local.

Sl: "Prijatelj potrebuje zdravniško pomoč!
En: "A friend needs medical help!"

Sl: " je zaklicala v slabo izgovorjeni angleščini.
En: she shouted in poorly pronounced English.

En: Thankfully, the local quickly came to help and assisted Tomaž in breathing.

Sl: Skupaj so ga pospremili do bližnje ambulante, kjer je prejel prvo pomoč.
En: Together, they accompanied him to the nearby clinic, where he received first aid.

Sl: Po negi in nekaj počitka se je Tomaž počasi stabiliziral.
En: After some care and rest, Tomaž slowly stabilized.

En: "With people like this, I feel like we're never alone," Tomaž said to Nina and Anže as they returned to the lake's shore.

Sl: "Ljudje so resnično srce vsake zgodbe.
En: "People are truly the heart of every story."

Sl: "Naslednje jutro, ob kavici in snežnem razgledu, je Tomaž v beležnico zapisal svojo novo pesem.
En: The next morning, over coffee and a snowy view, Tomaž penned his new poem in a notebook.

Sl: Navdih so bile roke, ki mu pomagajo, ko človek najbolj potrebuje.
En: The inspiration was the hands that help when one is in greatest need.

En: A poem about solidarity, about kindness that shows itself in the simplest forms.

En: As they departed from Bled, Tomaž didn't just have a poem for Prešernov dan, but also a new lesson.

En: He realized that true inspiration comes from the moments that connect us.

Sl: In osamljenost je le prehod do povezave.
En: And loneliness is merely a passage to connection.

Sl: S smehom in toplino v srcu so se prijatelji vrnili domov, polni hvaležnosti za svoje nenavadno, a nepozabno potovanje.
En: With laughter and warmth in their hearts, the friends returned home, full of gratitude for their unusual yet unforgettable journey.
