Sl: Vlak je odpeljal, zapustil je postajo Ljubljana, in počasni ritmi železniškega potovanja so se kmalu stopili z nežnim pomladnim vetrom.
En: The train departed, leaving postaja Ljubljana, and the slow rhythms of the train journey soon melded with the gentle spring breeze.

Sl: Matej je sedel ob oknu, pogled uprt v strmino, kjer so se gozdovi raztezali kot zelene preproge.
En: Matej sat by the window, his gaze fixed on the slope where the forests stretched out like green carpets.

Sl: Ob njem je bila Nina, njena navdušenja skozi oči so podžgala njegovo srce.
En: Beside him was Nina, her enthusiasm in her eyes sparked his heart.

Sl: Šolski odmor.
En: School break.

Sl: Brez težkih zvezkov in napetih urnikov.

Sl: Med vožnjo je razmišljal o vseh tistih stvareh, ki jih je želel izreči.
En: As they rode, he thought about all the things he wanted to say.

Sl: Toda besede se mu vedno znova zataknejo v grlu.
En: But the words kept getting stuck in his throat.

Sl: Nina je živahno klepetala o vsem, kar je opazila na poti.
En: Nina chatted lively about everything she noticed along the way.

Sl: Matej je v svoji glavi ponavljal: "Povej, Matej, povej."

Sl: Notranjost kavarne je bila topla, polna dišečega vonja po kavi in svežih pecivih.

Sl: Matej ju je naročil dva čaja in se zbral pogum.
En: Matej ordered two teas and gathered his courage.

Sl: Zunaj je deževalo, a v Matejevem srcu je gorela želja.

Sl: "Nina," je končno začel. "Nekaj ti moram povedati."
En: "Nina," he finally started, "I have to tell you something."

Sl: "Ja?" Nina je dvignila pogled, oči svetle od zanimanja.

Sl: Matej je zajel sapo in nadaljeval: "Že dolgo ti želim povedati, da si mi všeč.
En: Matej took a deep breath and continued: "For a long time, I've wanted to tell you that I like you.

Sl: Mislim, da si čudovita. In rad bi te bolje spoznal, kot prijatelj, mogoče več."
En: I think you're wonderful. And I'd like to get to know you better, as a friend, maybe more."

Sl: Nina je osupnila, ampak ne zato, ker bi bil slabo presenečenje, ampak ker se je njen srčni utrip povečal od mešanice veselja in olajšanja.
En: Nina was stunned, but not because it was a bad surprise, but because her heartbeat increased with a mix of joy and relief.

Sl: "Matej, tudi jaz sem čutila enako," je priznala s toplim nasmehom.
En: "Matej, I felt the same way," she admitted with a warm smile.

Sl: Njeni lasje, še rosni od dežja, so se svetlikali pod rahlim svetlobom kavarne.
En: Her hair, still dewy from the rain, glistened under the café's soft light.

Sl: Tisti trenutek je bil poseben.

Sl: Dež je zapel svojo pesem nad jezerom, a njuno prijateljstvo je doseglo nov, cvetoče poglavje.
