Remembering and Learning from the Extraordinary Paradise that was Rhodesia It was often said at the time that Rhodesia is Super! As somebody who lived in Rhodesia, can you please explain to us what was so super about Rhodesia? Yes, there is no doubt that Victoria Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world and that Rhodesia had some of the largest herds of elephants on the continent at the time, but what about the economy? How was Rhodesia doing economically, doing economically especially under the strict international sanctions? Communists ruled Zimbabwe is famous for it's hyperinflation, what was the currency like under Rhodesia ? Communist Zimbabwe is infamous for starvation and constant power failures, what was it like under Rhodesia? What about education? How were the schools in Rhodesia? What about the social life? How were the communities in Rhodesia? What did people do in their spare time? Many people when they think of Rhodesia, think of the bush war. How did the war affect life for ordinary people in Rhodesia? Were any of your family members involved in the military in Rhodesia? Were there any military units that stood out during the Rhodesian war ? What can you say about the infrastructure and travel in Rhodesia? Apparently you knew the famous Prime Minister of Rhodesia, Ian Smith, what were your experiences and observations of this extraordinary man? As you have done much research into history, can you mention some of the great personalities involved in the history of Rhodesia? Are there any particular Rhodesian achievements that you would want to highlight? For listeners who would like to read more about Rhodesia, what books would you recommend? Is there a website where listeners can learn more about the heritage of Rhodesia? “Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition….” 1 Corinthians 10:11

From the Frontline – The HEART and SOUL of Wicked Wokeism
“They promise them freedom while they themselves are slaves of depravity.” – 2 Peter 2:19
Where did many of the revolutionary ideas shaping modern Western culture come from, and what happens when those ideas are examined through a Biblical worldview?
In this provocative episode of From the Frontline, we trace the intellectual and ideological roots of Marxism and Communism, and examine the programme's argument that aspects of contemporary “woke” ideology reflect earlier revolutionary ideas concerning private property, the family, religion, education, morality and the power of the State.
We return to the writings of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, particularly The Communist Manifesto. Marx and Engels explicitly described the abolition of bourgeois private property as a central Communist objective and proposed measures including progressive taxation, abolition of inheritance rights, centralisation of credit and expansion of state control over economic life.
The programme also examines Marx's approach to Christianity and religion. Marx described religion as the “opium of the people” and argued that overcoming what he regarded as the illusion of religion was necessary for human emancipation.
But the discussion goes further, exploring the much more controversial question of Marx's personal spiritual outlook. Drawing particularly on Richard Wurmbrand's Marx and Satan and interpretations of Marx's youthful poetry and drama Oulanem, the programme considers claims that Marx's imagery of darkness, destruction and rebellion against God reveals something deeper than conventional atheism.
The episode then examines the historical hostility of Communist governments toward Christianity, asking what Christians can learn from the experience of believers who lived under explicitly atheistic Communist regimes. It also considers the dangers of political ideologies becoming substitutes for Biblical truth and of allowing the State, rather than God, to become the ultimate authority over family, property, education and conscience.
We also address contemporary claims involving the World Economic Forum, including the frequently repeated phrase “you'll own nothing and you'll be happy.”
Finally, we look at books and historical resources for listeners who want to investigate Marxism, Communism, atheism and their relationship with Christianity for themselves.
This is a challenging examination of ideology, history, property, family, faith and freedom—and a call for Christians not simply to accept the political philosophies of their age, but to test competing worldviews against Scripture and historical evidence.

From the Frontline: Crisis, Controversy and Christmas
It's the season for controversy. To celebrate Christmas, or not to celebrate Christians, that is the question. How should we respond to the controversies concerning Christmas? How can we best use this festive season for effective Evangelism, discipleship and worship?
“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the Government will be upon His shoulder. And His Name will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His Government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”
Isaiah 9:6-7

"Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted… Now all these things happened to them as examples and they were written for our admonition…"
