From the Inside is a podcast about justice architecture in the United States - that’s right: the physical buildings that house detention, corrections, courts, public safety, and other justice system functions. What do these terms really mean? What are their unique roles in our justice system? What is the relationship among these physical buildings, and what happens inside, in the day-to-day administration of justice?
In each episode, justice system experts, including architects, planners, psychologists, custody officials, and others, discuss an existing justice system challenge and how the design of these buildings impacts the issue. You’ll also hear their take on how architecture can contribute to true and sustainable justice system reform.
I’m your host, Erin Persky, a facility planner committed to justice reform. The first round of episodes of From the Inside will drop July 19th. Subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts.
