From the Mountaintop with Darren Canning

I was reading in Isaiah 51:7-8 today. In that passage the Lord says to those who live according to His word not to fear those who would insult and persecute them for living according to the gospel. The truth is that many of us will face much opposition in the name of Jesus but miracles, signs and wonders will come to attest to the truth of what we say. Listen to this broadcast and hear stories of how God has moved in my life and how I have seen miracles when I have been bold with the gospel.

The sustaining power of Jesus is a promise from the word of God. When you encounter a promise in scripture you need to begin confessing and declaring that word over your life. I love a passage from Isaiah 46

Isaiah 46:3-4

3 "Listen to me, you descendants of Jacob, all the remnant of the people of Israel, you whom I have upheld since your birth, and have carried since you were born. 4 Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

In this passage God is speaking to Jacob and the people of Israel, which you and I are in Jesus Christ. We have been grafted into the vine. He says that I have upheld you from birth and I will sustain you to your grey headed years. This is a promise. Our God is a living God. He is not absent like many fathers from the lives of His children. He is right there with them helping them along, speaking life into them and helping them achieve every vision that He has for them.

Keeping our eyes on our upward calling is what our Christian faith is all about. On this broadcast you will hear stories of me traveling the world and encountering signs, wonders and miracles in Jesus name. Once when I was in India the people in the town did not want me to stay. They tried to stop me from sleeping at a hotel. In that town we encountered a demonised man. We cast the devil out in front of 100 people, many non-Christians. When they saw that power displayed many turned to Christ.

Our God is a God who blesses and propsers His people. I have learned through the years that poverty is a mindset that God wants to heal. There are many Christians so opposed to the concept of blessing in Christ. However, once they get past their prejudice and unbelief God has the ability to open up their worlds to possibilities that they never imagined. Listen to this episode as I teach on how God began to prosper my life. I came from poverty as a child to doing extremely well as an adult simply by following the principles of scripture.

Many of us have faced dark times in our lives personally and as a society. Death, financial problems, sickness, divorce have come to many. There aren't many who have not faced something. We need Jesus to help us overcome this world. Faith in Him becomes like a surfboard that gets us over the waves of destruction.

Recently I was ministering to a young man who watched his father have heart attack and die before his eyes. This boys' father had a heart attack right in front of him and fell down on the floor. He turned purple and had no pulse. This left a real black mark on this young man's life. It was a wave that came upon him that tossed him into the deep and caused him great trauma. Thankfully that isn't the way this story because Jesus intervened with resurrection power.

His sister who loved Jesus prayed for their dad and he came back to life, but the boy was stuck now in his fear of dying. He constantly had panic attacks and fear because of what occurred. It paralysed him. He couldn't keep a job and He didn't know how to function without alcohol and drugs. Even though he grew up a Christian he did not have the spiritual stamina nor the understanding of how to overcome this problem.

I prayed for him and we got to the root of the trauma. He was delivered and set free. I listened to him sob and cry as the spirit of death that came upon him that day left him. Many of you are facing the same things. My belief is that you will be delivered.

Listen to this broadcast and find some keys to overcome in your life. You can through the power of the name and the blood of Jesus Christ.
