    Deputies with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office located the individual and shots were fired. As of 1:30 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office could not confirm who was shot or their condition. The second shooting took place at or near the Timberlake Pond Recreation Area, which is at Lewis-Turner Boulevard and Timberlake Road. According to OCSO Major Ken LaPee, the FWB police put out a request for assistance in locating the suspect. LaPee is the investigation’s bureau chief.

    A tornado watch will remain in effect until 1 p.m. today in Bay County and other Florida Panhandle counties, according to the National Weather Service forecast office in Tallahassee.The other Panhandle counties affected by the tornado watch are Jackson, Calhoun, Washington and Gulf counties, according to the National Weather Service announcement.A tornado watch is issued when conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in and close to the watch area, and are usually issued between four and eight hours, usually well in advance of any actual severe weather.
    As bands of thunderstorms moved through the area Monday morning, Bay District Schools reported power outages and even one closing.
    Central High School, 1250 W. 17th Street, closed shortly after 9 a.m. due to a lightening strike. All students were reportedly safe, however, the school advised parents that students “must be picked up at this time.”Hutchison Beach Elementary, 12900 Hutchison Blvd., and Surfside Middle School, 300 Nautilus St., both located on the beach, reported power outages early on in the school day. Officials reported around 9:15 a.m. power had been restored.The school district also reported shortly thereafter that phone service was being disrupted “intermittently throughout the district.”
