Monroe County Community College hosted a panel discussion "Recreational Marijuan - Pros and Cons" Oct. 30. MCCC President Dr. Kojo A. Quartey was moderator; several panelists discussed topics relating to Michigan's Proposal 18-1, the recreational marijuana ballot issue that will be on the Nov. 6 election.

The speakers heard, in order, are Connie Carroll, United Way agency executive director, giving introductions; Carolyn Bloodworth from the Consumers Energy Foundation, giving the keynote speech about 211, which is a signature program of the United Way; and 2018 campaign co-chair Paul Van Aken, announcing this year's campaign goal of $1.2 million.
