This evening we analyze "the discipline and the romance" of the Passover Seder, uncovering the emotional dialectic inherent in every detail of this powerful night. Living with that dialectic is the human condition, and it is the path to being able to rejoice on Yom Tov. And, notwithstanding today's events, it is the approach to celebrating Israel's beauty and blessings as we approach Yom HaAtzma'ut, Israeli Independence Day on April 26, 2023. I am deeply grateful to Rabbi J. J. Schacter for collecting and organizing many of these sources.
